    Default Doc's Football Selection (6-1) 8-28-09

I hear he is pretty good at this sport..
1 Unit Play. #263 Take New Orleans -2 over Oakland (Saturday 4:00 pm NFL Network) Have to admit that we are kicking ourselves for getting off of the Saints last week after we used them for our top play in Week 1. After trailing a solid Texans team last week 7-0, New Orleans dominated outscoring them 38-7. If they can do that to the Texans in Houston, they can certainly win on the road in Oakland to go 3-0. There strategy for success is simple, a new defense coordinator that likes to blitz and a solid rotation of quarterbacks.
Drew Brees, Mark Brunell, and Joey Harrington all of significant starting experience and the latter two should be able to pick apart a weak Raiders squad. The Raiders are still a mess and with their coaching issues yet to be resolved, expect them to struggle yet again in 2009. JaMarcus Russell has yet to impress me much and with him likely playing into the third quarter in this game, the Saints will win this game with ease.

Your next update will be Thursday September 3rd, 2009 at 5 pm central time for the start of college football.

Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals

    Arizona Cardinals -3-125

#260 Take Arizona over Green Bay (Friday 10:00 pm WTMJ) We have collected with the Packers in each of their first two games of the season but fell that their luck will run out in Week 3. Back-up QB Matt Flynn is banged with a shoulder injury and that means Brian Brohm will have to play a lot in this game. To make no bones about it, he is terrible and has thrown three interceptions in the first two games. It is hard not to luck Arizona’s QB rotation with Kurt Warner, Matt Leinart, and Brian St Pierre and if they can keep it close early, expect them to easily cover this number. Green Bay was up 24-0 last week and only won that game by 10 points. Aaron Rogers will play a lot in this game, but they cannot afford to get him hurt or their season would be over. This is the Packers first road game of the season and I highly doubt then can look outstanding yet again. In fact, no coach wants his team to peak in the exhibition season. Buffalo and Cleveland do not have the type of offense that Arizona does and we expect the Cards to dominate the second half and cruise to a victory.

Docs lines have been off by about 1/2point....pushed the season opener but he is pretty good. And no, his Game of the year doesn't move the line 7 points----maybe 20 years ago.

Last years lost and the line moved against him

I kept track of his record and I believe he's very good at college football last year (about 65-50-1).

You get about 3 NFL picks each week. He gets only hot in NFL at the end of the season/playoffs (about 28-37-7). It seems to be the case for the past 2 years. So, I hope he will be good all year long.

In the end, I would bet on his college plays.

Oh and thanks for the picks!
