Take #966 Los Angeles Angels -120 over Detroit Tigers (10:05p.m.)
Despite their struggles, the Tigers still have a 2 ½ -game lead over Chicago in the AL Central. They head south from Oakland to continue their six-game road trip. After losing two of three at Oakland, they now have lost 10 consecutive road series. We don’t expect that to change as the Angels have beaten the Tigers 27 of the last 35 home games.
It’s a good pitching matchup as Jered Weaver faces Justin Verlander. The Angels are 8-1 in Weaver’s last nine starts. Meanwhile, the Tigers have failed to give Verlander run support in his last three starts. They are averaging just 2.4 runs for him. Mgr. Mike Scioscia has put his teams bad performance in Toronto this past weekend behind him. He is pushing them to be more consistent.
