Front-running Tiger heavy favorite to grab 15th major

Tiger Woods, the best front-runner in golf, will have a two-shot lead when he tees off in the final round of the PGA Championship Sunday. And he won't have the defending champion as a playing partner.

Padraig Harrington bogeyed the last hole for a third-round 69 and cost himself sole possession of second place at 7-under and a final-round tee time with Woods, who shot a 71 for 8-under 208. He dropped into a tie for second with upstart Ye Yang, who was first in the clubouse at 6-under and will pair up with Woods.

A pairing of Woods and Harrington would have had the top two opening betting choices playing alongside each other. They were playing partners in the first two rounds and in the final round last week at Firestone, where Harrington stumbled down the stretch.

Woods, who led by four shots when he teed off Saturday, opened at +180 and is now -425 as he goes for his 15th major. He is 12-0 when leading entering the final round of a major.

Harrington opened at +2200 and is now +500 as he looks for his third win in the last six majors.

Yang, who shot the best round of the day with a 67 Saturday, is +1600. Henrik Stenson (68-212) is +2500, U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover (71-212) is +3300 and Ernie Els (70-213) is +5000.

1st time for everything, Yang at +1600 is a pretty generous price.....he has never been in this position before, he could very well have the round of his life.....however I would be shocked if Tiger didn't take this home.

As I stated earlier that price was too good to pass on in the position Yang was in, but as I also stated I would be completely shocked if Tiger didn't end up winning this.....Tiger just couldn't get any putts to drop and Yang made some key shots when he needed to. I still can't believe he didn't win, hopefully this feeds his fire and he comes back even better and more focused next year.

No, best he could have done was forced a playoff entering 18, since only 2 people had birdied it all day, so assuming he would par it he would need Yang to bogey and he only had 1 bogey in the last 12 holes. The way Tiger's putter was going I thought he was in big trouble when Yang chipped in for eagle on 14 to take a 1 shot lead.....but it is Tiger Woods so it is never over until it is over, after Yang hit that hybrid into 18th it was over.....
