TEAM TIPS
Rays : Tampa Bay hasn’t had much success playing in Anaheim. The Rays are 5-26 in their last 31 road games versus the Angels. They are seven games under .500 on the road this season. Tampa Bay is 5-11 in Matt Garza’s last 16 road outings. Garza (7-8, 3.63 ERA) has had 14 quality starts this year, tied with James Shields for most on the Rays. Garza was solid in his last start on Tuesday against Boston. The right-hander allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts during seven innings in a game the Rays eventually won in the 13th inning. Garza did throw a season-high 120 pitches. Tampa Bay has lost 15 of the past 22 times Garza has followed a quality start in his last appearance. Garza is 3-4 with a 4.09 ERA away from Tropicana Field this year.

PROJECTED SCORE: 5

Angels: The Angels have been one of the hottest clubs going 36-16 in their last 52 games. Los Angels is 5-1 in Sean O’Sullivan’s six starts this year. O’Sullivan (3-1, 4.24 ERA) tasted his first loss during his last start, losing 6-2 on the road to the White Sox last Wednesday. O’Sullivan was charged with four earned runs in five-plus innings. The rookie right-hander gave up six hits and struck out three. Tampa Bay has never faced O’Sullivan, who is 0-0 at Angel Stadium with a 5.91 ERA compared to 3-1 with a 3.47 ERA on the road. Leadoff hitter and AL runs leader Chone Figgins is hitless in his last 16 at bats. Vladimir Guerrero is eight-for-24 (.333) since being out nearly a month because of a strained left knee. The Angels are 38-14-3 (73 percent) to the over in their last 55 games.

PROJECTED SCORE: 4 (UNDER - Total of the Day)

The Under is 20-6-1 in Garza’s last 27 road starts.

TEAM TIPS
Dodgers : The Dodgers have hit a bump in the road, losing 10 of their last 15. They are 2-6 in their last eight meetings in San Francisco. The Dodgers have won 46 of their last 65 National League West contests. Hiroki Kuroda (4-5, 4.44 ERA) had an easy time in his last start, a 17-4 home victory against Milwaukee last Tuesday. Kuroda allowed three runs to the Brewers on nine hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in six innings. His strikeout-to-walk ratio in his last three starts is 21-to-two. Los Angeles has won during Kuroda’s past four starts. The Dodgers also are 6-1 in Kuroda’s last seven starts when he’s had five days of rest. The under has cashed in seven of Kuroda’s last eight road starts versus a team with a winning record. The under is 15-6-1 (71 percent) in Kuroda’s last 22 road outings.

PROJECTED SCORE: 5 (Side of the Day)

Giants: The Giants have been very tough at AT&T Park winning 38 of 56 (67 percent) of their home games this season, the best mark in the National League. They are 20-7 against clubs with a winning road mark. San Francisco has lost only three series on the season when playing at AT&T Park. Jonathan Sanchez (5-9, 4.49) is 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA in his last five starts, which includes his no-hitter on July 10. The southpaw has been much more effective when pitching at home where he’s 4-1 with a 3.26 ERA. On the road, he’s 1-8 with a 5.53 ERA. San Francisco has lost 22 of Sanchez’s past 30 starts. The Giants are 1-5 in Sanchez’s last six starts versus National League West competition. Eugenio Velez is on a career-best 15-game hitting streak. Today's Featured Capper
King Creole
Today's Pick: Cubs/Rockies OVER
Behind the Dish at Coors Field tonight will be one of our favorite "OVER" Umpires in JIM REYNOLDS. He comes in with a 12-7 O/U record on the year. Percentage-wise, he comes in as the #3 "OVER" Umpire on the season at 63%. In terms of current form, he's trending well, going 4-1 O/U in his last 5 games with an average of 11.2 RPG. In National League parks, he's gone OVER at a 67% Clip (8-4 O/U). His numbers on the season are not a fluke. He's gone 33-18-3 O/U in the last year and a half (19-9 in NL parks)... and 54-32-5 O/U in the last 2.5 years (30-15 O/U in NL parks). In Colorado Rockie games, Reynolds has gone 8-1 O/U in the last 3 seasons. That includes 3-1 O/U "In THIS park", with a whopping average of 15.8 combined runs per game. With projected winds blowing OUT to straightaway Center Field, we'll take a small bite on the "OVER".
