The league-leading Fever have not been underdogs very often this season. But when they are, they have been a smart play.
Indiana has gotten points just five times this season, most recently Saturday at Phoenix, when it was a four-point underdog and raced to a 17-2 lead en route to a 90-83 win.
The Fever are 4-1 as underdogs, with the only loss a 67-61 setback at Connecticut on July 21 when they were getting 1.5 points. They also notched a 73-61 home win over the Sparks on June 12 with a line of pick 'em.
Overall, the Fever have won five in a row and covered four straight games, two as an underdog. The recent run has been sparked by Katie Douglas, who is averaging 26 points since the All-Star break.
