Lost the top 2. Very close, as if it's any consolation.

Marlins had it in the bag and choked it away.

Angels were tied 4-4 in the 9th before the ChiSox got a walkoff single in the bottom of the 9th to win it.

I'm not just saying this because of what happened tonight, but I have not been weighting my wagers according to the number of touts choosing a play. I think the consensus is a solid indicator, but having extra touts pile on to one or two plays only improves performance marginally, and not at all lately.

If you take the average unit wager of 7 units and bet them equally across the recommended plays, the season-long performance is just about equal to the weighted unit plays. And that average includes a LOT of small consensus numbers early in the season. Post-All-Star break, the average is probably 10 or more units and I believe betting an equal number of units on each recommendation actually outperforms the weighted strategy.

On other note: don't skip the over/under plays just because there are only 5 or 6 touts on it. A lot of touts don't play them much or at all, but they have performed as well or better than the sides recommendations.

Last note: There are hidden gems in the consensus. Minnesota and the Phillies had several touts each on them. I often take the ones that don't quite make it and then check it against Golden, CK, Today's Action, Mexican S., CashMoney and others with good capping records this year (especially lately). If I see support, like I did with Minnesota today, I will put them into play, too. That would make this a 6-3 night, a solid winner.

Unfortunately, I bet on Cincy before the consensus came out and only went 5-4.

Someone set a 5 margin as the bar. That's difficult to meet with the totals, because many of the touts don't do totals at all. A good portion of them do sides, period.


Note for Wednesday:

I'm going to the Mets/Cardinals game at 12:10 PM*, which means I won't be able to compile the service plays for the afternoon games. If the game ends in a reasonable amoutn of time, I should be home by 5 PM and I'll try to do the night games then.

Sorry, but we're coming off two losing days anyway, so I don't feel as bad about it.
