NYY vs. CWS (Sabathia v Buerhle)

Pick: New York Yankees -135

Believe it or not after yesterday's dismal performance from the NYY we go right back with them today. Yes, Mark Buerhle has had an unbelievable couple of games, but that wont continue today. After recording the MLB record 45 consecutive outs, he went to let up three runs the next inning. Buerhle also boasts a lifetime 6.11 ERA vs the Bronx and has a record of 1-5, certainly not confidence enhancing statistics. Yankees pitching has let up 24 runs over the last two games and that will not happen when C.C. takes the mound. Sabathia is 14-4 lifetime vs CWS with a 3.65 ERA and will look to dominate the White Sox batters. With the Redsox picking up another game on the Yanks, they cannot afford to be swept by Chicago and lose control over their divionsal lead over Boston. Yankees pitching turns it around today as they bounce back with a 6-2 victory to close the series.

LAA vs. MIN (Weaver v Perkins)

Pick: Minnesota Twins + 100

All we have to say is that in 16 innings of work lifetime vs LAA bats Perkins has a ERA of 0.56, enough said. Minnesota has been a different ballclub at home opposed to the road, when they play inside the dome they have 31-22 record. With the race in the AL Central tightening up the Twins cannot afford to lose a lot of more home games as their schedule becomes more difficult towards the end of August. Last time Weaver faced the Twins he let up 4 ER in 7 innings of work and that game was at LAA. We forsee a far worse game for Weaver today as the Twins put up atleast four runs on him in the early stages of the game and hold on for the win. Twins bounce back from yesterday’s throttling 5-3.

LAA vs. MIN (Hamels v Zito)

Pick: Philadelphia Phillies -165

After getting shutout all night by ace Lincecum we feel the Phillies will be ready for aging Barry Zito. Squaring against Zito comes last year’s World Series MVP. Although Cole Hamels hasn’t been as dominant as he was last year this guy still throws extremely hard. He is currently on a roll and hasn’t lost a decision in over a month. The Giants struggle vs Lefties as they bat .246 as a team versus a .261 vs Righties. All angles in this equation point towards a Philadelphia Phillies win as they even the series 2-2 with a 8-2 thromp over San Francisco.
