Found him, this guy is hot!

We had a sick July, netting +310.5 dimes of profit and today kicks off winning month number three in a row. Only three more months 'til the Maui Invitational...

20 dime - Mariners

Just like it was all about LeBron James throughout the first half of the NBA Playoffs, it's all about another King today -- Felix Hernandez. King Felix (11-4, 2.79) is enjoying a spectacular season and is well on his way to a much deserved Cy Young award if he keeps up this torrid pace. Amazingly enough, he's pitched out of this world away from home, where he's 7-1 with a 1.91 ERA, an insane 1.01 WHIP and allowed only four homers in 84 innings pitched. This is an extremely important intangible against a heavy swinging Texas team that leads the Majors in home runs with 155. Hernandez received a no-decision his only start at the Ballpark in Arlington this season, when he pitched seven scoreless innings on May 14. Seattle dropped the first two games of this series and they cannot afford to drop three in a row against a division rival if they want to remain in any playoff contention. This is a make or break spot for the M's and with Ian Kinsler out, and King Felix's nasty arsenal keeping the free-swinging Rangers off balance all day, I'm rolling with Seattle. Play the Mariners as our first top play winner in the month of August.

10 dime - White Sox

John Danks has quietly been the White Sox' best big game pitcher since last October when he outdueled Nick Blackburn to win the one-game playoff for the AL Central crown. Danks proceeded to beat Tampa Bay in the ALDS (the Sox only win that series) and so far in 2009, he's bested the Angels, Twinkies, Cubs (twice) and Rays. Danks has allowed more than three runs only once his last eight starts and he's risen to the occasion seemingly every single time the Sox have called his number in a big spot. It doesn't get any bigger than the much hated Yankees, although the Bronx Bombers have dropped their last three games at Comiskey. The White Sox are white-hot against the AL East, having won 7 of 9 including home series wins against the Orioles and Rays since the All-Star break. I hate going against hot pitchers and A.J. Burnett sure is one of the hottest at the moment, but I can't pass up the Sox with this much value at +130. Burnett is infamous for his control problems and walks are always an issue. He's also notorious for pitching out of jams, but just one hung breaking ball to Paul Konerko or Jim Thome could be all that's needed today for another South Sider victory.
