Default Service plays summary for 7/30/09

Sorry guys. Overslept. I hate these noon starts. Not going to be up in time for the first three games, most likely. Definitely not the Mets game. Mets were a big play last night, though, and it's the same pitching matchup

    Game 1: Mets x8 / Colorado
    under x4
    Game 2: Colorado x6 / Mets x2
    under / over
    Baltimore x8 (1 is RL) / Kansas City x3
    under
    St. Louis x6 (1 is RL) / Dodgers x3
    under x3 / over x2
    White Sox x14 / Yankees x14
    over x3 / under x2
    Texas x8 (1 is RL) / Seattle
    over x4 / under x3
    Phillies x14 / San Francisco x11
    under x3 / over
    San Diego
    Florida x7 / Atlanta x9
    over x5 / under x3
    Boston x5 (3 are RL)
    under x2 / over
    Milwaukee RL x8 ML x2
Cincinnati x5 (2 are RL) / San Diego
    Cubs RL x5 ML x1
    over x3

Texas would be the night play.

Never seen two games as split as SF/PHI and CHW/NYY.

    you're welcome.

    Gotta love the Texas pick.

It wasn't a bolded play, but I also took Colorado in Game 2 partly based on this.

Unless you view it 300 times a day it is not flying under the radar. Keep up the good work.

This summary is about the only thing I play anymore, besides the JM system. Even Golden and Cash have crapped out and cost me money. As noted in the chart from yesterday's summary, over the course of time, this works. And it works really well if you ignore baseball until the NBA finals are over.

I just mean that the regular posters on the forum have no clue what this is.

Ah, the service plays forum regulars are a different bunch.

Something did change, though. My threads used to get 120-170 views a day and never got any comments aside from my own. Now they're topping 600 regularly and getting multiple comments.

One more good reason to keep up the good work in this forum, yisman. Your hard work is appreciated (even if you do sleep in late on occasion) and you are a shooting star with the regular posters.

Why the hell this thread doesn't get 2,000 hits a day is beyond me.

Milwaukee, Cubs, and Boston were RL plays, actually. I notice you're counting everything as ML. Ah well.

In terms of risking to win 100, I think Milwaukee and Boston were - anyway, but the Cubs were +.

"Your hard work is appreciated (even if you do sleep in late on occasion) and you are a shooting star with the regular posters."

Well, the regular posters in the service plays forum, anyway.

Once again, I won't be able to do this tomorrow.

Yeah, unfortunately covers.com doesn't have the runlines so I have to grade everything as ML. I would love to know a good source of historical RL odds if anybody's got one.

There must be somewhere to get those historical RLs. VegasInsider?

But the RL odds would significantly alter the performance of this consensus system, so RL plays should be regraded at RL odds. If no source can be found, I think it would be safe to add 50 or 60 cents to the ML odds for grading purposes. The average difference between ML and RL odds is probably 70 or 80 cents (or more with heavy favorite MLs), so a 50 to 60 cent boost would seem conservative and legitimate.
