Default Scott Rickenbach Top Play 6-20

SCOTT RICKENBACH - TOP PLAY (8-1 last nine!)

    6/20/2009
OVER 9.5 RUNS, TORONTO BLUE JAYS (Cecil) -vs- WASHINGTON NATIONALS (Detwiler)

Scott Rickenbach’s MLB Top Play OVER the total in Washington vs Toronto @ 7:05 PM ET: Detwiler vs Cecil – After the rain moves through the D.C. area this afternoon, look for clearing skies and pleasant weather this evening. It’s ideal weather and an ideal pitching match-up for these two offenses to have a big night. Last night’s game was a 2-1 extra-innings pitchers duel. However, the teams did combine for 17 hits and, with this match-up of southpaws, there should be plenty of hits again tonight and, this time, a lot more runs. Rookie Brett Cecil of the Blue Jays got rocked in his last start and he’s getting hammered at a .345 clip by right-handed batters this season. He’s given up seven homers in his last two starts and his problems against right-handed hitters are a concern as he will face a Nationals lineup dominated by right-handed hitters. Of the only two lefties likely to be in the lineup against him tonight, one of them will be Nick Johnson and he’s pounding left-handed pitching this season with a .352 batting average against southpaws. On the other side of the equation in this match-up, it’s a similar problem for Ross Detwiler of the Nationals. The left-hander is getting pounded at a .301 clip by left-handed batters in his six career MLB starts. Here he will face a Blue Jays lineup that is loaded with right-handed lumber. Possibly the only left-handed batter that Detwiler may see in the lineup tonight is Adam Lind of the Blue Jays and he’s pounded left-handers at the tune of a .321 clip so far this season. So, while Washington has not been producing many runs at the plate recently, and the Blue Jays only managed one run and seven hits last night, tonight we will all witness the difference it makes when two subpar hurlers square off and both have match-up issues with the lineup their going up against. All the right-handed lumber pounds the left-handed starters in this one and the Nationals still possess one of the worst bullpens in the majors! Play OVER the total in Washington as a Top Play selection.

Guys his TOP PLAYS are very good (excepting last night of course, lol) ; his other plays I don't know about.

He states he's particularly proficient with totals in MLB (again except for last night).
