Milwaukee -110 at ATLANTA

Another Free Play winner with the Giants over the Nationals 4-1 in the second game of the doubleheader! Now 7-2 with my L9 Freebies, and we keep it rolling on the Diamond Friday...

Although the Brewers' Yovani Gallardo got shelled in his last road game, he recovered nicely over his last two starts at home, allowing just 1 run over his last 13 1/3 innings, striking out 15 along the way! Despite that effort versus the Astros, Gallarado has been reliable on the highway, going 2-1 with a solid 3.48 ERA. I'm looking for him to redeem himself tonight at Turner, and he was great in his only start against them there, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits over 7 innings, but that was back in September of '07.

Opposing Gallardo is the Braves Jair Jurrjens, who's also pitched well despite getting shelled in his last start, at Arizona. His ERA is slightly higher at home, going 2-1 with a solid 3.08 ERA thus far this season, but that's not his biggest problem. His biggest issue in this contest is run support, as the Braves do not hit righties well at home, and have been especially bad against the Brewers...

There's a reason why Atlanta's home record is below .500, and that's been a lack of offense, batting .250 against righties at home and averaging just 3.2 run per game in that spot. What's worse, is they've been terrible against the Brew Crew in the past, going 3-6 against them last season, averaging just 2.7 runs per game! It's not going to get any easier against Gallardo, who got his stuff together over his last 2 starts and will be on point tonight at Turner. It doesn't hurt that the Braves bullpen has also been a disaster of late, posting an ugly 6.06 ERA over their last 3 games. In the end, the play here rest squarely on the Brewers.

Take Milwaukee behind Gallardo over Atlanta and Jurrjens in this MLB match up.
