Green Dollar RatedPicks 5/18 MLB (small *BP*)

(this is the update they sent me, they had listed the atlanta braves instead of the arizona d'backs in the wtie-up, they since corrected it to the right team)

    **** Copy and Paste ****

Yesterday we came close to a sweep. Today we finish it, The Redskept it close, but just couldnt seem to get over the hump and knock in more then 1 run the entire game against the Padres. We did however jump on the Dodgers HUGE as they pounded the Marlins, and the total climbed to give us a win on the over as well. Three games today to cash in on.

    The Bulldog

    ________________________________________ ____________________

Blue Jays RUN LINE -1.5 +130

The Blue Jays love playing in the sun. They have a 13-2 record during the day, they should also have a sell out crowd in the stands pumping them up, as first place Toronto celebrates a national holiday today. A much improved Blue Jays team throws Scott Richmand on the mound who faces off against Clayton Richard. The last time Richard faced the Blue Jays he lasted 4 innings as the Blue Jays pounded him for 5 runs injust 4 innings. Richard has also given up a 5.40 ERA and clubs hit a staggering .314 BAA against him. Couple this with the fact that he holds a lifetime record of 2-6, and the last time he faced the Blue Jays he was taken out in the 3rd inning while he got hammered for 4 runs, and had the bases loaded 2 of those 3 innings.

    ________________________________________ _________________

    LA Angels -102

Lackey is the small underdog here, on the road vs the Mariners. The Mariners counter with Washburn, who has been getting pounded as of late against the Angels ball club. Going 1-4, and giving up 20 runs in the process. Lets take the small dog on the road in this one, as Lackey has yet to get a start since coming back. Look for Lackey to come in pumped after the ejection, and play this game a little stronger then normal. Reccommend taking on an extra 20% of your normal bet, as this is considered a smaller *BP*

    ________________________________________ ____________________________

    Arizona D'Backs -130

Haren is a great pitcher vs Nolasco who is on a horrible tear. Haren for the D'Backs is posting a 2.09 ERA, but is 3-4 on the season. Due to the fact that his offense hasnt given him any runs. The D'Backs bats appear to have started to heat up as of late, and going against a shaky Marlins pitcher in Nolasco, They should take this easy win on the road.

I've played one play a day before and 'came close' to a sweep. Pshh. That was pretty dumb. I hate when people say that. The Reds just plain lost and he only had 3 picks. Nothing close to it. Does he always act this arrogant during football/basketball? A lot of guys that give a review of games won and lost the night before are bad news, business or pick wise.

    Thanks for the picks, PTJ

This is good stuff. Wasn't aware of the national holiday and I'm not sure whether that gives them a boost or not, but I like the angle. I'll roll with him. I was already on the D'Backs with Haren at a short price vs under-performing Nolasco and the streaky Fish. I'll book the Angels too and hope the Bulldog has a BIG day.

One suggestion for those who play the run line...

I like to hedge the bet with a money line wager as well. If you use Pinnacle I think they offer a (-1) run line which is much safer than a straight run line wager. But if your book doesn't offer it, you can structure the bet so that you get a (-1) line. That way if your team wins but only by 1 you push instead of losing outright.

All you need to do is figure out the amount you want to wager on the game. Then structure the bet so that the amount to win on the money line wager equals the amount to bet on the run line wager. On the Jays at my book it was about 3/5 on the money line and 2/5 on the run line. This gives me effectively a (-1) line at -125 odds. If the Jays cover the 1.5 run line I get -125 payout; if they win by 1 I push; and if they lose I lose the same amount I would have lost by betting it straight on the run line.

    Good luck all!

I dont do this often, but I got a play of my own. Im taking the Mets +130 over the Dodgers.

The Dodgers traveled overnight cross-country to come back home and play a game today. The way they played yesterday they used a otn of energy, couple that in with travelins from Florida all the way back to California. The Mets have been in California already for close to a week. So Im betting a bill on the Mets myself. +130 vs a traveled and tired Dodgers. Its a nice angle I think might hit myself.

I thought about this play from the same angle when I was looking over the games today. Stayed off it b/c you don't know what to expect with Redding, but I think it's solid.

I played the STL tonight because I can't see them getting swept at home in a 4 game series by a division rival. I'm hoping they manage to scratch one out and save some face.

Excellent example of why I use this hedge. I actually do this for every game I want to bet where the vig is higher than -140. That's the most I'll pay for a straight money line baseball bet. If it is higher than that I use the (-1) model I described above to get the juice down to something more acceptable for me.

Is it asking too much effort for you guys to just read the write-ups? I mean, do you need someone to log into your account and book the bet for you too?

No offense, ebbearsfb.... but you're the second person in this thread that has taken the time to ask this question and the answer is right there in the post. The play is the Angels. He recommends 20% more than your standard, as it's not a true *BP*.

I see it was actually just you asking the question both times! LOL. But it was already answered once and again.... it's in the original post.
