Awful Olly is back on the hill tonight. And after a strong showing in his last outing I expect vintage Oliver Perez to show up tonight and for him to get lit up. The Cardinals have had two days off to rest and recover from their series with the Cubs. And to this point the Cards have been playing some really strong baseball. They have won seven of 10 and two of their losses were in extra innings. The Mets, on the other hand, have played well but aren't hitting their stride just yet. This is purely a play against Olly and I think that the Cardinals strike first in this series.

1.5-Unit Play. Take #951 Florida (-125) over Pittsburgh (7 p.m., Tuesday, April 21)
The Marlins got steamrolled yesterday in a perfect letdown spot. But part of the reason I got on them was that I was going to ride the Fish through this series. I don't think that they will get swept and I think that they come back tonight and get some licks in on Jeff Karstens, who is 0-8 in his last eight starts for the Bucs. Florida has a couple things that suggest they are a great bounceback team. First, they are 20-6 after they give up five or more runs in a game. Second, they are 17-8 when they score two runs or less in a game. Both situations are in play so I look for the Fish to do what they do.

Let's get on a roll here instead of making excuses, funny how he forgot that the Phillies came back in the 9th and NYY won beacuse Choo lost the ball in the sun with 2 outs, or the Marlins. What about the games that zagged that should have zigged.

Well, I said that we'd be up at the end of the weekend and we weren't. That's my bad, and our weekend was - as all slides are - a confluence of bad handicapping and bad luck. But the bottom line is this: if Houston doesn't blow Friday's game in the bottom of the ninth and if Houston and Cleveland weren't double play happy on Sunday then we're singing a whole different tune today. So I'm not going to scrap what I'm doing because of a couple games that zigged when we needed them to zag. That's betting and that's baseball. And through two weeks we've been doing well in both.

yep, they all even out in the long run, he's actually gotten more breaks then not this year. The worst thing a handicapper can do in my mind is start complaining when it doesn't go our way, he's better then that.

I am not a beliver in any losing pick being a good pick...alot of cappers resort to that...I rather make bad picks that cash

I disagree. You can make good picks that don't cash.

It does go both ways, though, so he should be fair and mention the bad picks that did cash.
