Thanks for tracking bro!!!! appreciate the updates, it is a big help to watch these guys, and way worth it to track when they are streaking!

You can easily backtrack at therx service plays thread. CPAW posts the Dunkel picks every day, usually on the first page of the thread. You can go back years if you want. In the end, you'll see what many people have already tracked - Dunkel is a 50% system.

thanks for posting. I always just glanced at all their plays, but never took into consideration of just looking at their top play. Real interested to see how it goes for long term. Even if it hovers around 50% is ok, more interested in their streaks, if they don't go on long losing streaks would be great to run a labby with their top plays.

I also like that they have a healthy pick of underdogs instead of just favorites.

    Keep posting if you can.

Nice thread. thanks for posting. I think they have other picks other than just baseball as well, don't they? I see them posted across the street daily like chilli said.

Thanks chili. That was what I was afraid of. Was that 50% for all the picks or just the picks of the day? I'm only interested in tracking the MLB Pick of the Day. Oh well, I guess I caught it on a hot streak. I searched the forums for past Dunkel picks but I couldn't find the past picks regularly posted, so I'll just continue to track for the rest of the MLB season.

The Indians look to bounce back from yesterday's 3-2 loss and build on their 9-3 record in Jeanmar Gomez' last 12 home starts. Cleveland is the pick (-110) according to Dunkel, which has the Indians favored by 1. Dunkel Pick: Cleveland (-110).

If you're interested in all thei MLB picks of the day since Day 1 of the 2012 MLB season, I posted it here: Good one play a day capper?. I've been tracking since day 1 of 2012 and flat betting since 4/11/12 and have made a moderate amount of profit. If it indeed is a 50% system long term, I'm hoping that the small chalk and underdogs picks will at least give me break even season or small profit by the end of the year.

I never thought of doing a labby, but that might be a good idea.

Thanks chili, I appreciate it. I was going to create a new post everyday for their picks and their latest W-L with their records, but you're probably correct in keeping it in 1 thread. We can track the records and post the picks as a community since it is a free site and this will be the definitive thread for their 2012 W-L season.

thanks. I like what I see so far. only at one point did they have 2 losses in a row. I'm probably going to do a small chase with the top play. Really curious as to how they fared in top picks in other sports.

oops, guess I glanced to quickly, do see a few more 2 straight day losses. For the month of Apr, a straight bettor would be up +6.75. If you ran a 3 game chase, one would be up 27.75 units. (I just used the line given, and just a rough calculation, but not to shabby).

  16. #16

Would be interesting to see how Dunkel does on the totals...

I'm working on a spreadsheet right now for last season. I got the info from across the street. The earliest start date I can find is May 19. Right now, I'm starting July. He has had 3 straight losses on several occasions. Of course that doesn't mean 3 is the limit for last season or this season.

  18. #18

Has anyone tracked Dunkel NBA top play? If not, thought I would start working on this past years and see how it fared, as a possibility for next season.

  19. #19

Just wrapping up July of last season. Longest losing streak is 4. Longest win streak is 2. The 4 straight losses only happened once in July. I could not find information for July 19 and 22 across the street. Regardless, this does not change the longest losing streak because the days preceding and following the missing dates prove the worst case scenario is 2 straight losses or just one loss (the 22nd).

I'll say again that this does not guarantee he will only go 4 straight losses this season before turning it around.

EDIT: LONGEST WIN STREAK JULY 2011 IS 4 (from 28th to 31st)

    This is for mlb.

Btw, hope people cashed on Cleveland today. His wnba also hit after taking a loss yesterday. He has alot more 4 straight losses in wnba last season (up until July; working the rest).

  21. #21

Yes, nice win on Cleveland today. Good work guys getting all that data together, much appreciated.

My initial look at NBA is not very good, 8w-10l in May, with a 8 straight loss period. Will work on rest of season as I can.

  22. #22

Great work and thanks for the continued research EVPlus and jimmcc01. I think jimmcc01's suggestion of running a chase system is a very viable strategy for the Dunkel MLB picks, even if it ends up being a 50% system due to the number of underdogs it hits. It seems from the limited data we have so far that the MLB picks are steady in terms of having small winning and losing streaks.

Well...this is where we see what the Dunkel mlb index is made of...If last year is any indication, Dunkel should go no more than 4 straight losses (or less) before a regression back into the winner's column.

    September 2011 ml season backtracked.

    Longest losing streak: 2
    Longest win streak: 3

So far, for 2011, Dunkel mlb's longest losing streak stands at 4 in July.

I could not find April's records so keep that in mind.

Also, past result do NOT guarantee what can happen this season.

BOL. I went in small on Detroit this morning when they were +105.

They should have taken pusscello out after the 5th. From the 1st inning on, he was giving up a run every other inning.

3 straight losses for Dunkel mlb this season.

Based on reading dunkel's write up, they only appear to look at ats. What they do not take into consideration are the intangibles such as a home team NOT wanting to get swept.

4 straight losses for dunkel this mlb season. This matches last season (not counting April/2011 which I couldn't find and possibly Oct).

My guess is that whenever a tout relies solely on ATS and nothing else, you're basically wagering on heads or tails. This doesn't give the bettor any edge in the long term. Dunkel may win the next pick, he may drop the next several.

  33. #33

I don't think you could count Dunkel as a tout... touts generally ask for $$$, Dunkel is free.

Fair enough. But I believe they post plays on their website to generate revenue from the advertisers who place their ads on the site. In a round-about way, there is a financial motive (not that I'm against capitalism).

The important discovery, IMO, is how Dunkel primarily uses ATS and not much else (at least not that I can see from the brief write ups). People who use this method of capping (amateurs or touts or pros) are basically flipping a coin. And you simply cannot win long term with that strategy.

Agreed. Unless they get out of this losing streak, it looks like their "system" is heading towards a 50% win rate as others have stated. I'll be on vacation starting on Friday and I'll will post once I get back on Memorial Day unless others want to post the daily picks. I'll probably peek at their site for the daily picks while on vacation so that I can continue to track their W-L records.
