If you mean martingale, I think that's a dangerous strategy. Very dangerous.

If you search earlier posts on this thread, you'll see one method of playing him that I suggested. It basically entails waiting for him to drop 4 straight and then jump in (but you still have to like the play). However, with this insane win streak this month, that plan needs serious reconsideration.

  8. #113

yes, i'm joking about martingale, but i'm makin spreadsheet that dunkel's could work with labby.... as long enough bank roll, the odds are goods--- and can maintain around 50% hit per month. because labby could also be dangerous, eventhough much less than martingale.

so is it better with flat betting? or any other money management strategy?

  9. #114

The safest betting strategy is 1 percent or less of bankroll per wager in a flat betting style. However, a losing streak can still wipe you out. Some people will adjust the 1 percent if bankroll diminishes.

Don't take offense at this. However, I posted on this subject in this thread. Also, if you do a search, there are plenty of threads on various money management strategies.

I know what you're thinking because I was the same way when I first started. I was looking for that magic bullet that works. The truth is, there really isn't one. You need to constantly adapt and adjust.

    2 losses in a row

dunkel is usually pretty good guys. I am not saying to start chasing these plays or anything, but if you manage your money, this can be a useful resource not only in baseball but other sports.

    Key words are "useful resource"

I'm on vacation until Thurs and just landed and today's pick is Kansas City+ 115. Looks like another loser. I'll post when I get back or if someone wants to continue the thread that would be great. Hopefully he'll start winning again.

Anyone truly betting 1% of bankroll, whatever that number is, and gets wiped out should look on the other side of the Milky Way for something to do, that is near impossible unless you flat out suck or you are Eddie Mush.

Jump off the train boys. It;s been more than enough so far this month further tailing will cancel the units.

Dunkel on a cold streak right now, but actually like this play. Playing real small hoping Dunkel gets back on track.

  20. #125

Gentlemen. What we are witnessing is the ebb and flow of sports handicapping. That makes 6 bombs in a row for the Dunkel Index, after having an AMAZING run. And like another poster had stated, before this baseball season is over (or maybe right after Dunkel collects their next win), it's very likely you'd see another 6+ game L streak...

I mentioned that in post #55. Otheres have stated similar things.

This current losing streak is following the law of averages. The epic 7-8 win streaks in June is now regressing to reflect the 50 percent hit rate of Dunkel's capping method. So, in a way, the long win streak is actually hurting those who use a chase system.

I emailed Dunkel and he informed me that the ats trend mentioned on the pick of the day is just one of several. I don't see why he has a reason to lie (he doesn't charge for his picks, after all). This leads me to believe that he mostly uses trends and stats. I think he ignores or places much less emphasis on specific angles. I mean, why go with Kansas last night when they played 15 innings the night before...? Of course, they're going to be tired for the first game with Houston.

The sixth straight loss is the longest this season and (as far as I know) last season. My estimate is that he will hit a winner within the next 3-4 plays. After that, it's anyone's educated guess what the win-loss pattern will be.

On a side note, Kevin of mlbprections dot org just lost eight straight. That's not a typo. 8 straight losses for that idiot. Like any other tout, he will eventually pick a winner. But based on what I'm seeing, his comp plays are fade material as soon as he hit 2-3 straight winners (longest win streak this season is 4).

todays dunkels pick is again'st mcclain from BA. (pick same match different side)
mcclain also in 2 straight losses.

I wonder who will add the losses.

    Fade material?

  26. #131

This season, Dunkel appears too streaky with wins and losses. In other words, if anyone decides to just auto fade, he may turn it around just long enough to hurt the bank roll.

epic win streak turning into an epic losing streak. Anyone decide to fade after first loss?

  32. #137

After his epic win streak earlier this month, I knew all bets were off (pun intended) in terms of using a strategy of going in after 4 straight losses. His pick on Royals the day after their 15-inning marathon just confirmed it.

I had high hopes for this old boy...I thought I had a nice addition to my stable of touts who would go 3-4 one way before reversing on a fairly regular basis. Now, he's been relegated as just another streaky a55hole.

(On a side note, IC is holding nicely in his basketball trend of going no more than 3 losses before reversing during the regular season. Very nice indeed if you're not one of those fools who go in big just because Doc labels a game 5 or 7 star).

Today's pick, Nationals, is another sketchy one. Baltimore is 10-1 currently after one-day rest. Will the Nats win? I don't know and I don't care. I'm too busy capping games that have a potential of being + ev.

It's like a suspense thriller! Will the hero stop the antagonist's evil plan to take over the world?! Can the heroine defeat such a menacing adversary?! Will the Dunkel Index post 10 L-Bombs in-a-row for this 2012 MLB Season?! Stay tuned...
