    ? ? ? ROCKDEMAN Sports picks for MLB 2012 ? ? ?

he ran a simple BEST PITCHER system free play last year, its a simple system anyone could find and do themself i heard but he use to post it up in here and then in the ADVERTISING section , his system had some followers and some who pissed on it , i played it frequently and liked it , never sent him a dime of money , just some SBR pts now and then

i cant find any posts by him since like late February 2012

did he quit SBR , get banned , change his name ?

  2. #2

Probably all of the above. He NEVER WON AT ANYTHING.

Tried to get Rocketman's custermers by having a name similar to his. LOL

  3. #3

  4. #4

Sniper wasnt it best pitcher vs the team he was playing?

  5. #5

big and fairly weasy W for Rock ....................... and me

I won 200 on it, posted pregame in my sbr MLB thread,

today he has CUBS as a "diamond dog" , dont know WTF that means, i just like best pitcher system , anyone know who the best pitcher is today?

Best Pitcher System = the pitcher , pitching this day, that has the BEST record v his opponent, this day

I heard this is easy to find out yourself, where would it be found? i looked on ESPN but dont see it

    Sniper,

I use scoresandodds to find the stats and do the math myself. I don't exactly know how Rock chooses his picks. Sometimes a pitcher may be 4-0 with a team record of 6-1 against an opponent while another pitcher may be 13-4 against another team and Rock may pick the other pitcher due to more appearances. If you get my drift.

As for today though, hand down it should be the New York Yankees. Sabathia OWNS the O's. Check it out:

SABATHIA is 16-2 when starting against BALTIMORE with an ERA of 2.74 and a WHIP of 1.078.His team's record is 18-4 (+10.1 units) in these starts. The OVER is 12-8. (+3.5 units).

Some others have good percentages but not more dominating results than Sabathia.

    GL!

I am very familiar with Rock's system and its the best + ratio. So Sabathia is a +14 (16 wins - 2 losses), if multiple guys have the same ratio then its the guy with the most wins. So if Sabathia 16-2 is pitching the same day as say Beckett for example who is 17-3, They both have the same + ratio. Since Beckett has more wins he would be the pick. For Today here is the rundown of the days pitchers

    Sabathia Nyy - 16-2
    Dempster Cubs - 15-4
    Lester Rsox - 10-4
    Verlander Det 6-1
    Garcia Stl - 6-1

OK, so he sees a top Best Pitcher as a DOG and calls it a "Diamond Dog" whereas the other pitchers are FAVs, mostly

  13. #13

OK,so he sees a top Best Pitcher (Dempster - Cubs) as a under-DOG and calls it a "Diamond Dog" whereas the other pitchers are FAVs, mostly

  14. #14

He most likely jumped off Sabathia who is -180 and took Dempster at +105

Thanks a lot for the insight Lopez. Last season, I followed his system because it was posted everyday. It was consistent. I was bummed when he wasn't posting to start this season.

Everyone of the teams listed has lost except for the Yankees, Lets see how Sabathia does, I have been tracking since the start with the above criteria, and the Best Pitcher is now 4-2 with Sabathia pending tonight.

ROCK has an under 7.5 in Reds - Nats game today

hey Lopez , whats the Best Pitcher top 3 or 4 today?

  18. #18

    Hey Sniper,

I was just checking and it looks like Arizona is today's play.

Philly comes close but Kennedy is better.

KENNEDY is 5-0 when starting against SAN DIEGO with an ERA of 2.01 and a WHIP of 0.918.His team's record is 6-1 (+5.5 units) in these starts. The OVER is 3-3. (-0.3 units)

    For Philly:

BLANTON is 6-2 when starting against MIAMI with an ERA of 3.33 and a WHIP of 1.296.His team's record is 7-2 (+4.2 units) in these starts. The OVER is 5-3. (+1.8 units)

I know he sells his picks through Northcoast but have never purchased him.

  22. #22

  23. #23

It looks like today it is a tie between Mia & SD as both pitchers are 5-1. I am going to go with SD as that pitcher has a lower ERA. I am not sure what broke the tie before but that is what I am going to use. I just jumped on yesterday with Ari and I am playing a 4 game chase at -1.

    Good Luck!

  24. #24

I think that may be wrong?

I got King Felix and the Seattle Mariners

HERNANDEZ is 13-4 when starting against OAKLAND with an ERA of 2.71 and a WHIP of 1.121.His team's record is 17-6 (+9.3 units) in these starts. The OVER is 10-12. (-1.9 units)

Percentages may be with the others but the "plus total games factor" is with the Mariners.

  25. #25

No twitter update yet from rock. He won yesterday on the comp total under in reds game and top 2 best pitchers won with Phil's and zona

No way I take padres. Not even if biff tannen touted them

But I think last year he only did best pitching record against opponent...there were no other factors.

  27. #27

IMO , he use to look at top 2 or 3 best pitchers and pick 1 depending on matchup and juice. Guys were always arguing about the pick. I like playing top 2 or 3 if spread out like yesterday's top 2 that went 2-0. No twitter update yet

  28. #28

Rocks tweet pik is braves. He calls it a "shutout system play". What's that mean? Don't no just play braves to win if u wish

  29. #29

I wod look at Miami and mariners in best pitcher I guess. Lopez seems to be an expert maybe he can verify.

  30. #30

Arizona was the play Yesterday, Best Pitcher on the board is 6-2 to start the season. Feel free to play the other games due to matchups. Today the Best pitcher is King Felix 13-4 so thats who I am tracking as the official play. Here are some others

    Sea Hernandez 13-4 - ** Official play **
    Bos Beckett 10-4
    SD Richard 5-1
    Mia Nolasco 5-1

  31. #31

Thanks. I got bosox and marlins and seatle will be a late play. All 3 spread out so each ends before next starts

  32. #32

How is 76% (Hernandez) better than 83% (Richard & Nolasco)?

i just went back and searched through his threads last year for the best pitcher system...it did very well up until the all star break, and did decent afterwards but definitely ended up + on the year...here is how it breaks down

    best pitcher vs. opponent
highest + win/loss ratio (today would be felix hernandez with a +9, second would be beckett with +5, but only take the top opponent for tracking/record purposes)
if the top two pitchers have the same ratio, for instance, if the top two are both +5, you take the pitcher with the best + win/loss THIS SEASON
if they have the same win/loss right now, you take the best ERA vs. that opponent, and if somehow that ERA is the same you take the best ERA this season

hopefully this can take off like it did last year, i remember it got up to like 75% or so at one point...GL

Go Back and read the other posts which explains that its not about the Percentage but Net wins. Hernandez is a +9, Beckett is +6, while Nolasco and Richard are +4. Thats the system that was used last season and the one we are tracking.

this is because it goes by win loss number, not the %...think about it, you could have a few guys that are 1-0 against that team which would make them 100% but not necessarily the best pitcher...the other way at least you get a good idea over more starts
