Yesterday was one of those days that shows you just how humbling sports can be. I went 1-2 for a loss of 5.08 units but we were on the wrong side of two close games as one basket fell going against us in the Villanova game while Missouri missed a point blank layup at the buzzer to fail to get the cover. I'm not complaining as I lost but it goes to show that the bookmakers are very close on their lines at this time of year and you need the breaks to fall your way. That is why I always laugh when I see some of these handicappers advertising 1000* winners and stuff like that in order to get business because while blowouts can occur I think it is more than likely that we will be sweating these games out to the end every day. After a nice little run this week I have now lost two straight days and I will look to end that streak with these selections today:

719 Michigan State/Louisville Under 138 -1.04 (3 Unit Play)-Both Louisville and Michigan State will battle here for a trip to the Final Four and this game should be a slugfest. While both clubs are pretty good offensive teams don't be fooled, these teams are where they are at now due to their defensive efforts. Louisville ranks #2 in defensive efficiency this year while Michigan State ranks #10 in that category. These teams are still good offensively as Louisville ranks at #25 in offensive efficiency while Michigan State ranks at #29 but unlike the game earlier this week between Missouri and Memphis that I took Under I think the pace will be more controlled in this one rather than the uptempo style that occurred in that one. Louisville over the past three years after scoring 80 or more points has went 20-6 ATS for the Under and over the same period of time Michigan State when installed as an underdog has went 17-6 ATS to the Under. I think Izzo knows that he must control the tempo today to limit turnovers because that is how Louisville has been building huge leads in this tournament so I look for some long deliberate possessions in this one. With Raymar Morgan playing with a broken nose and protective mask he will probably struggle in this one so someone else will need to step up but the Spartans are used to that as they have fought injuries all year. I watched both teams a lot this year and sometimes these teams went into droughts in games unable to score and I think we will get a couple of minutes of scoreless action in this one which should enable this wager to cash. If you are looking for a side I would take the points with Michigan State but I am just going to play the Under here for a three unit wager.
