7* Play On Houston

Houston hosts San Antonio on Saturday after handing the Spurs one their worst losses this year, when they beat them 103-84 when they met back in November. The Rockets match up very well against the Spurs and hold a 3-2 SU & ATS advantage during their last five meetings. One main reason for that is that the Spurs are a solid 3 point shooting squad, averaging an incredible 40% made from the 3 point arch and we find Houston at 8-0 ATS at home against teams that make 39% or better from 3 point land. Houston will be able to defend against those quick 3 point runs, so we're laying the points with this live home Favorite.

Tonight the biggest ‘gift’ on the board is taking Louisville minus the points over Syracuse. The Orangemen have been the story of the Conference tournaments after a 6 overtime win against UConn on Thursday night then another OT win last night against West Virginia. That means tonight’s contest against the Cardinal will be their 4th straight day of playing basketball PLUS they played an additional 35 minutes with the OT sessions which means nearly 4 ½ games in four days! Now they face a pressing Louisville team that will show no mercy. The Cuse basically have a 7 man rotation and their two floor leaders Devendorf and Flynn have played 104 and 112 total minutes in their last two games. Louisville on the other hand is off of two straight easy wins over Villanova on Friday and Providence on Thursday and are the much fresher team going into tonight’s Big East final. Last night the Cards had 8 players all log 13 or more minutes in their game which means everyone is rested and ready tonight. The Cardinals defense held Villanova to just 34% shooting on the game and forced 23 turnovers. In their Big East tourney opener against Providence the Cards forced 26 TO’s and held the Friars to just 33% shooting. When these two teams met earlier this season at Syracuse the Cardinals were able to win by 10-points as a 1-point favorite. Louisville shot better, had more rebounds, less turnovers AND attempted 13 less free throws in the game. Louisville was a 1-point favorite at the Carrier Dome and now are favored by 7.5 here which in reality is only 2.5 points higher than it should be but that minor adjustment by the Books is not NEARLY enough. Look for Louisville to come out and press a tired Syracuse team and eventually wear them down and pull away in the end for a double digit victory.
