Probably the most well known tout...

everyone claims he is great fade material...but you are probably going to lose to the juice anyway. people need to stop joking about fading him for two reasons 1. it was semi-funny maybe the first 100 times someone made that joke 2. i doubt he is hitting below 46.5% ats.

he or anyone doesn't have to hit below or at any number to be a winner or loser. if you do not have the discipline or money management in place you can hit 70% and get buried. winning percentage means very little unless EVERY play is equal which almost never happens.

52.38% is the winning percentage just to break even with -110 odds. If the vigorish is less than that percentage obviously drops. The point of my comment was that if he is hitting at such a low rate, he might be worth fading. The point of this was not to discuss how people mismanage their money (yes you are correct, the majority of people who lose their money are guilty of this) Most gamblers hit between 48-52 percent. All of these gamblers lose money (with -110 odds) in the long run and will have ups and downs, but eventually be grinded away. You are correct to say that the 70% guy (which is not possible in the long term) would lose money, but this has nothing to do with the discussion.

If someone were to hit at such a low rate that a person fading them would make money, some folks might find fading them useful. I doubt anyone actually fades people. Usually you can try to figure out edge places by being selective.
