    Trophy TA's N.H.L. 50+ Point Roll-Over Contest For Thursday, 10.22.09

    **************************************** ***********
Tell me which team will score the most goals in regulation and overtime (if needed, no shoot-out). Here are the teams: NYI, MON, NJ, NYR, NASH, OTT, CBUS, EDM, DAL and LA.

    >>> Sorry the BOS/PHI, WA/ATL, SJ/TAM and DET/PHX games are off the board for this contest. <<<
    -----------------------------------
There wasn't a winner last time, so the prize rolled-over to Thursday's contest and begins with 50 S.B.R. points.

This is a post up/transfer points event to this and only this post/thread. Any points transfered to another location or that don’t show up in this thread are considered void. Voided points will be refunded by the deadline for the next day as outlined for paying the winner(s).

Cost for today’s event is 20 points for the first team and 10 points for the second team.

    Payoff Structure
    I. Less than 200 SBR points: winning player(s) will get 90% of the prize
II. More than 201 SBR points: winning player(s) will get 95% of the prize
Note: Points will divided as evenly as possible and if can not be done as such, the left over one(s), those who'd make an imbalance, would carry over to the next Roll-Over Contest.

Only one post per person/household, etc but you are allowed a second team if you posted/transfered the necessary points - see exception below.

The no edit rule is in effect. Edited posts forfeit their points and are out of the contest for the day.

Player or players who were correct will get the kitty/pot/points by 11:59am EST on 10.23.09, split evenly as possible when more than one person has the winning selection/team. If there would be an imbalance in paying the winners, the leftover points will be added to the next kitty/pot. Most times the winner(s) gets paid after the final game on the card that night.

There must be at least five listed contest games on the days schedule for this event to take place. If there are not at least five listed contest games on the schedule, it will roll-over until there are at least five listed contest games on the schedule.

The deadline for entering is 7 minutes before the first game of the day. For Thursday, 10.22.09, that would mean the deadline is 6:53pm EST.

EXCEPTION. In the event nobody won the kitty/pot/points they roll-over to the next contest day and those who lost from the previous day have the option of buying one more selection. If the player had only one choice from the previous contest, they would need 7 points to have a second selection. If the player had two selections from the previous contest, they would need 5 points to have a third selection. Players can not go from one to three selections. The maximum number of selections per person is three. Players can only obtain the discount by not passing two consecutive roll-over contests and upon the third no longer qualify for it.

The above players do NOT have to take the maximum number of teams, but if they do there is a discount on the additional one when a roll-over occurs.

    * Players may not select both sides of a game.

    * If a roll-over happens and the player had one team and now wants two teams for the next day, they would need to anti-up 27 SBR points (20 + 7 = 27).

    * If a roll-over happens and the player had two teams and now wants three teams for the next day, they would need to anti-up 35 SBR points (20 + 10 + 5 = 35).

    * SBR points may now begin being transferred/posted up to the first post.

    * Once your points have been posted in the first thread, you may begin listing your selection(s).

    Good luck to all!

What's with you? One night you're hell bent on one of the contests I run and then now you try to be nice/polite. None-the-less because I won't stoop to that level, here's your answer and I'm sure you won't like it; it depends on if those teams were in play for this contest this night and how many players have one of those teams that were the high scoring one for the night. Similar situations for this have come up in the past and were handled in the manner that I felt was correct.

I'll do you one better and we'll use tonight's games so there's no confusion. Presently, NASH is leading with 6 goals but there is one game still in progress with a choice involved (LA). If LA gets two (2) more goals before the shoot-out, they would have six (6) and be tied with NASH. Since only one person had a team that was the high scorer, they get the prize. If NASH remains as the high scorer from Thursday's games, the pool rolls-over until the next contest.

NASH ended being the high scoring team for Thursday's Roll-Over Contest.
Nobody had selected them and the roll-over is now at 70 points.
dogcity can buy a second team at the discounted rate for the next contest if wanted.
Looks like Saturday, October 24, 2009 will be the next Roll-Over Contest.
