It seems you do not know what parimutuel betting is.

The reason there is no need to assign odds is that they are naturally set by the bets in the pool. For example, let's say the cumulative amount of points in the entire pool is 300 points, and 100 of those points are bet on Richkas. If Richkas wins, those that bet him will divide the 300 points, translating to odds of 2/1.
