    ThaddeusB's low juice pointsbook: Superbowl giveaway, promos, special lines, & more!

    Welcome to ThaddeusB's low juice points book

    It's Superbowl weekend and that means its promo time here!

    First, I am giving everyone who has made at least one bet in December or January a 25 point free play to be used on the game. Side, total, props, whatever you like is fine - as long as it is related to the Superbowl, you can use the 25 point free play on the line. For new customers and those who haven't played here in a while, just make a deposit and you can also claim the 25 point free play! (This is in addition to the deposit bonuses listed below.)

    Next, I am offering a special line on the game. As of right now, 5dimes is offering the Giants ML at +123. I am going to offer it at +135 with a 300 point limit per person. Additional quantities can be played on the current 5dimes line (be sure to check what that is).

    For the Superbowl only, I am allowing higher limits on the side/ML/total. Max risk will be 1500 and max win will be 1000, instead of the usual 750/500.

    I am also offeringsome special deposit bonuses for this weekend only. Option one is a 10% bonus, 3X rollover, and free instantwithdrawals (see rules section for details on the instant withdrawal program). Option two is a 25% bonus and 6X rollover. Option three is a 46% deposit bonus with a 12X rollover. Of course, depositors may decline any % bonus and get free instant withdrawals with no rollover. When depositing, please specify which option you want.

    Prop extravaganza    : For every 5 prop bets of at least 20 points risked, players will earn a 20 point free play that can be used immediately or saved for a later date. No limit to the amount of free plays won.

    The rules

    Introduction:
    Betting with my book offers two advantages over SBR's sportsbook: more lines and lower juice. I also offer a 10% deposit bonus (or more if I'm running a promotion). Unlike other betting opportunities you see on SBR, this isn't a time time thing, but rather an ongoing offer.

    Before SBR added a transaction tax on player-to-player transactions, there used to be a lot of point books in operation. Posters benefited from the choice, but sadly these books went out of business when the tax was introduced.

    I have come up with a solution to the tax dilemma; in order to minimize the loss to tax, I will be taking points deposits rather than one time bets. (Read the depositing section below for more info.)


    Deposits:
    To make a deposit, simply add a reply to this thread stating how many points you are depositing and whether you want the deposit bonus or not (see first post for current deposit specials). If you accept the bonus, you will be subject to a rollover requirement on your total deposit (including the bonus) before you can withdraw. If you don't accept the bonus, you may withdraw your points at any time. Once you've made this notification post, use the coin icon at the bottom of this post to transfer the desired number of points.

    Examples of valid posts:
    "Depositing 200 -     bonus declined"
    "Depositing 100 - bonus accepted"

    If you want some extra points to play with, consider apply for a loan at the Bank of ThaddeusB. Loans deposited directly into my points book will be given a 3% discount on interest and still be eligible for the deposit bonus!


    Withdrawals:
    To make a withdrawal, simply add a reply to this thread stating how many points you want to withdraw. Normally, point availability will be verified and the payout will once a week on Fridays. The points book will keep sufficient balances on hand to pay all clients at all times.

    For those who want points faster, an "instant" withdrawal program is available which guarantees payout within 12 hours for self-graders. Instant withdrawals are limited to 90% of your self-reported balance (to cover any minor discrepancies); the remaining 10% will be paid on Friday if desired. There is a 5% fee associated with this service, which can be waived if you choose fee waiver as your bonus option. To request an instant withdraw, just post something like "200 point INSTANT withdraw requested." The fee will be waived if the withdrawal doesn't take place within 12 hours and a 5% bonus will be added (up to 25 points) to your account.

    Line availability and grading:
    ThaddeusB's points book will be open 24 hours a day. The book will accept action at nearly any line posted at 5dimes, with the exception of live action\in game betting. On the rare occasions that SBR has a special line out on a game, we won't accept any action on that game, but will place my clients points on the game in the SBR book upon request. I also offer unique, "special" lines that aren't found anywhere else from time-to-time.

    Grading will be done in the order of posted start time, with ties broken by the order a bet was listed. As such, it is permissible to place a bet on an early game and a late game using the same points. If points are available based on the final result of the early game, the later game will have action regardless of whether the two events overlap or not. (ex. You start the day with a 50 point balance. You post a bet on the 1pm football game and the 3pm baseball game. If the first bet wins or pushes, the later one has action. Otherwise, it does not.)

    Current balances will be updated once/day and listed once a day, near the top of the points book's new thread.


    Limits:
    To prevent the book from going bust from a few big wins, there will be a maximum win of 500 points per bet and a maximum wager size of 750. If you try to bet more than this amount, your bet will automatically adjusted down to the maximum. (Example: you try to bet 400 on a +150 underdog. The bet will be adjusted to 333.33 to win 500, regardless of the outcome of the game.) For purposes of calculating this limit, closely related wagers will count as a single bet (for example, the combined maximum of a 1st half side and a full game side of the same game is 500). This limit is to protect all parties (I don't want to stiff anyone).

    The minimum wager is 1 point and the minimum to win amount is 3 points.


    Placing a bet:
    To place a bet, go to 5 dimes' live lines and find the game you want. (Note: there is a none bug with logged out lines - see below). Then leave a reply to this post making it very clear how much you are betting and on what game. You do not have to specify the line, but it is strongly recommended you do so for your own protection. (Important exception: props bets must include the line.) If you don't specify the line, you'll have action at the then current price (as determined by us). If you do specify the line, you'll have action at the price you listed, assuming it can be verified as accurate. If you list a wrong (or stale) line, your bet will have no action.

    It is highly advisable to make it 100% clear what team you want. Using a city or team name only may be ambiguous. Abbreviations are allowed, but make sure they are not ambiguous. It is also a good idea to say "ML" is you want the money line, "-1.5 RL" if you want the run line, etc. You may also differentiate a game by listing the betting ticket number found at five dimes. If it isn't 100% clear what bet you want, I reserve the right to cancel a bet.

    Examples of good bets:
    "50pts on Chicago Bears -3 (-105)"
    "20 on Cincinnati (MLB) -1.5 RL (+160)"
    "10 on the first period under in the Stars/Sharks NHL game "
    "5 on Indianapolis Colts to win the super bowl"
    "207 Denver +2.5 (-105) - risking 15" (207 is the ticket #)


    Examples of bad bets:
    "30 on Tampa Bay" (which Tampa Bay? which line?)
    "Chicago Bulls -5" (how many points?)
    "5 on SD/TB over" (without a league this might be an ambiguous abbreviation)
    "20 on the under longest TD prop in the Alabama/Florida NCAAF game" (props bets must include the line)

    Do not edit your post after placing a bet. Let's keep this fun for everyone by being honest. If I determine a post was edited in an attempt to cheat the book, I reserve the right to cancel the wager and/or confiscate the points.

    Note: It has been pointed out to me that 5dimes' live lines are confusing for soccer (and possibly other sports that are lined in similar fashion). The non-customer screen does not correctly display "quarter" lines (e.g. "pk, -1/2"), causing it to look like the same line is offered at multiple prices. When logged in, this is clearly not the case. This error affects both totals and Asian handicaps and creates some VERY good looking lines. Obviously, I can't afford to honor these as they appear, so extremely care needs to be taken in placing these types of bets. To prevent error, you can stick to the first line listed for each game (which is the main line and never a quarter), or you can check the odds at a third party website. Oddsportal.com is excellent for this and odds.sbrforum.com is also good. When using either site, be sure to look at the 5dimes line, as it will likely be better than the default line.


    Parlays:
     I am now accepting parlays. You can parlay ANY line (ML, spread, props, etc.), but you may only have 1 line from the same game/event within any single parlay. So, for example, you can't parlay a side with the total or a player's rushing yards with the result of the game. You can, for example, parlay two different totals or a player's rebounds with the side of a different game. Any parlays that violate this no correlation rule will be no actioned.

    Like all wagers, there is a maximum payout of 500 points per parlay. If you accidentally wager an amount that would push you over this limit, the wager will simply to adjusted downward (win or lose) to have a 500 point payout. Payout will be calculated using the chart below for standard sides/totals bets. For exotics and ML bets, I will use the numbers produced by the true odds calculator minus 0.25% per team. (E.g. true odds minus 0.5% for 2 teams; true odds minus 1% for 4 teams; etc.)

    Parlay payout schedule for normal sides/totals (+100 to -120):
    Teasers (football):
    5dimes has their own way of doing teasers, but I stick to the industry norm of allowing players to tease the normal spread and/or total (not 5dimes special teaser specific lines) with payout as follows (note many payouts are above industry norms):

    Other options can be added to my offers upon request, so if you prefer to tease some other number of teams and/or points let me know. Ties in teasers reduce the wager to the effective number of teams' payout schedule. Unlike every other shop, I grade a push and a win as half a win (i.e. half the payout of a 2-team wager). I think it is crap that a win-push normally counts as push. Naturally, a loss-push counts as a loss.

    Service guarantees:
    Due to real life concerns, it isn't always possible to update balances on a daily basis. However, I should always have time to do so on Fridays. People who wish to have more frequent updates, should consider self-grading. If I fail to provide the promised update for any reason, everyone will get 5 points added to their balance with no rollover requirements.

    Regular withdrawals will be processed on Fridays. "Instant" withdrawals are available for a 5% fee and are guaranteed to go out within 12 hours or the fee is waived and a 5% bonus (up to 25 points) added to the player's account. To be eligible for instant withdrawals, one must self-report or have received a recent official balance update. Any withdrawal request made by Thursday that is not initiated on Friday will mean the requester gets an extra 10% added to their total, up to 100 points. (Initiated means I will have a balance number for the client. In the event of a discrepancy, communication may be necessary to clear things up before the points are actually transferred.)

    I reserve the right to make an exception to these guarantees if I have to be away from the computer for an extended number of days. In this rare event, I will provide plenty of advance notice so people can make alternate plans if they desire.


    Disclaimers & dispute resolution:
    Standard grading conditions apply. Examples include, but are not limited to, baseball games being listed pitchers only; totals requiring a full game to have action; overtime being included in the result were appropriate (American football, basketball, hockey, etc.) and not included where it normally is not (primarily football [i.e. soccer]).

    I reserve the right to cancel a wager if 5 dimes posts a obviously errant line. (An example of a obvious error would be a -200 favorite being listed as a +200 dog on accident.)

    In the event of a dispute about the grading of a wager, a player's balance, or anything else, the player agrees to try and work things out privately first. If after 48 hours, no agreement is reached the player and the points book agree to seek binding arbitration from an agreed upon third party. The creation of a public "Thaddeus bashing" thread prior to 48 hours after an attempt to resolve the situation privately may result in the loss of the right to binding arbitration or other appropriate penalty.

    I reserve the right to confiscate the points of posters who are stiffing a lender and return them to the rightful party (the lender).
