Yes. Even with dictator ruthlessness, I don't know how he kept that country so under control.

Saddam was never a threat to the United States security. There was no way he could produce WMD after all the damage to the country in the Gulf War, and with follow-up U.S. bombings a few times after that.

What was it you asked?

They were scared sheitless of him in IRAQ, thats how he controlled that country. I dont think he was ever a threat the the USA.

Im not really sure if IRAQ was better off with or with out him.

Sadam was a mean S.O.B but heres the deal, You've got to be a mean S.o.b when your surrounded by enemies along your borders. You have insurgents inside your country that whant to overthrow your position of power. One minute you have the most powerful nation in the world selling you arms and next there trying to take over your country. Yeah he gassed innocent woman and children ,folks there is no such thing as a romantic war. As the old saying said it best WAR IS HELL. So, to stop my rambling ,under it's present state of affairs, YES they were more stable with Saddam.

Iraq would be better off with Hitler right now. More of a symptom of how bad things have degraded than any statement about Sadam Hussein.
