Howard you need to play like this guy
Angry player
30 rebounds tonight
Spurs want no part of these guys in playoffs 60-33 on the glass:lmao:
Lakers ass stomped the spurs tonight. Bynum was a beast.
Still life in the purple & gold people.
LA handling the sports world right now...
I think he's better than Howard, but Howard is definitely more explosive.
Bynum is just as much of a defensive factor and a much better offensive player, IMO. Bynum would be the leading rebounder if he didn't play with Pau.
However, I'd take Howard because of Bynum's knees.
Having a dominant center doesn't mean a whole lot in today's NBA.
OK, lets see how many finals teams have dominant inside presences in the NBA finals since 2000.
2000: Lakers beat Pacers -- Shaquille O'Neal
2001: Lakers beat 76ers -- Shaquille O'Neal
2002: Lakers beat Nets -- Shaquille O'Neal
2003: Spurs beat Nets -- Tim Duncan
2004: Pistons beat Lakers -- Shaquille O'Neal, Karl Malone (edit - nvm), Ben Wallace
2005: Spurs beat Pistons -- Tim Duncan, Ben Wallace
2006: Heat beat Mavericks -- Shaquille O'Neal (sort of)
2007: Spurs beat Cavaliers -- Tim Duncan
2008: Celtics beat Lakers -- Andrew Bynum (injured though), Pau Gasol, Kevin Garnett
2009: Lakers beat Magic -- Andrew Bynum (injured though), Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard
2010: Lakers beat Celtics -- Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, Kevin Garnett
2011: Mavericks beat Heat -- NONE
I still think the Lakers are going to be tough in playoffs
Height is tough to beat
Wallace was good but a little overrated I think. Also it seems to be a lot of people misremembering Shaq in 2006 not just you he was first team all NBA arguably the best player in the league still even though Wade was Finals MVP Shaq was the best player on that team.
Howard over Bynum
I like bynum better if he can stay healthy. Like the chip on his shoulder if he can keep it under control a bit.. They single him out for some reason. Players talk shit to benches all the time and don't get techs.
bynum footwork get better every game it seems like. those 30 rebounds wasn't nothing special for him he just out there doing his job.
Howard has no heart.. He's overrated because there's no good centers in the league basically.
Anybody with a clue about the game knows and has known for a while that bynum is a better player than Howard.
Most teams that win nba titles have a very big man in the middle
I thought Jordan played with 7-2 Bill Cartwright for a while who was a very underrated center
Howard is a much better defender. Bynum misses rotations and doesn't always hustle. Both big babies but Bynum has a chip on his shoulder that works for him sometimes. Howard wants his coach fired and talks about being traded during championship hunt and Bynum shooting 3s and gets suspended for 5 games. Both guys probably not great for team chemistry. Tough to pick one.
I think Howard is too much of a clown and does not care if he wins or loses
Bynum has more fire
I rather play the guy with more fire
Howard smiles when he gets a rebound. Guys a joke. No offensive game at all.
That's a fair point, but a lot of them played a similar role as a center throughout much of their games, being almost entirely inside block players. I.e., Duncan would play the wings on offense, but on defense he is essentially the center, whether his position says that or not. Kevin Garnett is almost entirely a PF, but I'd argue that his defensive role also corresponds with the C position, even though Perkins was there. Gasol did play C for the Lakers in those playoffs because Bynum was not completely healthy in the first two. I also think Bynum and Wallace definitely count as dominant centers.
Bynum's problem is his head...don't think that can be fixed. He is great if you only want him to actually show up once every 20 games
all the height the lakers have make bumbling bynum appear better...this is almost as bad as the "derrick rose will never be a dominant player" thread you started, coach...horrible
but i wont pass complete judgement on the thread until wantitall4moi chimes in...he is, without a doubt, the most informed and knowledgeable person in the world when it comes to the Lakers...dont believe me? just ask him :lmao:
Triple double...
10 Blocks...
Blocked 11% of Denvers shots:bowdown:
Looks like I was right again
