Capitalist Venture Killed by White House

Capitalism is is near and dear to our hearts especially if you consider yourself a true conservative. I am always shocked by people who have blindly supported a party who has decided that the govt will criminalize an enterprise that is legal in many other countries but will not see the light of day here. Capitalism is about letting market forces decide where people will spend their money not the govt. So why is it that people here who call themselves conservatives support a party that has decided that internet gaming should be and is now illegal. This website is dedicated to sports gaming, so how can you be both a sports bettor and a republican. The Bush administration made internet gaming as well as finacial transactions associated with internet gaming illegal. Would not a good capitalist allow internet gaming to set up shop here in the US and let market forces decide if it survives. The tax revenue is sorely needed in Iraq and Afganistan as well. Having US based operations would place sportsbooks under the jurisdiction of US laws. Sports bettors would have some recourse instead of having to ask this website to help them get paid. And of course, you would not be a felon. I'm confused, how can you support the GOP unless you are an idiot, know nothing about anything or you are just full of crap. Morons need not respond.

GOP members supporting the online gaming laws are like the Dems supporting continued rendition as well as strikes in Pakistan and the like. Both parties have their splits.

Just because I disagree with the GOP on a few issues, it doesn't change the fact that I agree more with them then the socialists.

Unless you're a total partisan hack you won't find a party you agree with 100% of the time.

If you dislike anything socialist tell your grandparents to get the hell off of social security. They are a drag on the economy. Bush administration ventures into regime change are a purely socialist ideal. Josef Stalin was rather proficient at it. How much money have we dumped down the Iraqi rat hole-that was the idea of the "socialists". If you know any of the answers to these or for that matter anything, holler back.

Not saying I agreed with Bush. One grandparent, without a need for social security because he was smart with his money. Didn't say I agreed with Iraq either. Not all democrats agree with the extreme of their party, not all republicans agree with the like. I agree with you completely that online sports books should be regulated and taxed. They would jump at the opportunity. But to call all republicans morons, "know nothing about anything" or full of it is a little bit of a stretch.

Unfortunately, the GOP having the Religious Right as a major block of their voting base goes beyond just online gambling [Since the RR are pretty non-conservative on most social issues].

I have voted consistently for a long time republican Senator from Penna., Arlen Spector. Sen Spector (R-PA), was forced to change parties recently because even though he has been a Republican for all his time in the Senate, he no longer has the backing of the GOP. The GOP is abandoning an incumbent senator because he is not a hard right on every issue. Why would you abandon an incumbent who has tenure? The answer is easy, he has NOT veered RIGHT off the road into the cornfield. This tells you all you need to know about the who and what is todays GOP. Sen Spector voted according to what was best for his state and not what he was told to do by Rush Limbaugh-that is a deadly sin in the republican party of today. Get in line or get out! Thats who I want representing my family and state in DC. I'm sure we (citizens) are the priority of these lawmakers. Only parrots and sheep need apply. So you see, I do not agree 100% with anybody. I vote for who I feel has the interests of my family and the country at heart. I have very little respect for people who swallow hook, line and sinker an entire parties position.

Being from PA, Arlen did a lot of good for us. When it came time for the primarys,
I had to vote against him. I voted for him in both parties before. He's still sharp
at 85 but, it's time to move on. The one thing I didn't like about him was, I always
recieved an automated return e-mail. My representative always wrote back.

You can be whatever party, and still vote for the person of your choice, only not
in the primarys. I've voted straight party before.

I don't believe I ever posted my academic achievements. I am happy to see that you are reading my posts. I suspect they will not do you any good as your stilted, unoriginal thinking indicates damage to the cerebral cortex. Children who consume lead via paint chips are afflicted with this but I suspect your damage comes from longterm consumption of moonshine (toxic when not purified correctly-you need to check the recipe) or heavy use or crack cocaine/methamphetimine or some other illicit substance. The prognosis is poor for individuals such as yourself but I suppose it's never too late to stop. I'm sorry "you fell through the cracks" of our healthcare system. I think you should be held up as a perfect example of what happens when healthcare does not reach the rural places in America. You should also consider the possibility that inbreeding has contributed to your problems but it will not change the eventual outcome. BOL
