Default Gaming Bill

As a non US resident I am amazed by the farcical anti gaming bill,at the risk of getting slated the US looks like a complete joke.
Surely there must be some group/individual who is going to challenge this as unconstitutional after all the right to bear arms seems to allow US citizens to arm themselves like a small country, there must be something you can use surely.I am staggered that it has come this far, what are you guys going to do?

I live in CA which is a somewhat liberal (blue) state , but I've seen the "red" states really take over these past few elections. It doesn't matter what the educated liberal folks in CA and NY think anymore. What controls our country is those idiotic hick right winged Christian states ...the mass majority...the bread basket of America. They count. They are in control. They don't think gambling is moral. They like guns. What is the country coming to? How did we get so stupid? We are an embarrassment to the world. Bush is a moron...a moron leading a bunch of morons....and I'm stuck here with them all....not able to do a thing about it.

It's really sad...I'm thinking about moving to Canada where gambling is legal and not even taxed. Not only is online gambling illegal in the US you have to pay taxes on your winnings. I am actually in the process of "moving" my accounts to Canada through a Canadian relative who lives there. I'm even going to open up a Canadian bank account is a Canadian bank that has an office in L.A. I don't want to get banned or arrested for sports betting. I think many US gamblers will find these same loopholes to keep betting.

In many ways...I'm lucky to be an America and shouldn't complain. But it's not easy to look on the bright side in these times that we live in....perhaps the next presidential election will bring some much needed relief from the oppression!

I agree with your commentary 100 percent. The last election really led me to believe the country is hopeless. Totally hopeless. Bush is a terrible president and an idiot, and he shows how dangerous it is to allow someone to run for president because of their last name. This guy's credentials shouldn't have allowed him to run for city council, much less governor of Texas and the presidency. And I actually was fooled in 2000, mainly because I didn't like Al Gore.

How this guy won re-election is scary. I'm no John Kerry fan either but you'd think some of those "red" states would have voted the other way. I still don't get how all the poor southern states always vote Republican. Why? How can a president send thousands of men to death in Iraq and not be held accountable by the voters.

The really scary thing is, this clown would likely win again in 2008 if he could run again.

France is a country that can't get much more liberal and yet they are arresting heads of books outside their country so this isn't limited to just one mindset. But given we don't have any legal sports betting options outsdie Nevada, I get your overall point.

Most Americans don't want this bill and if it came to the floor by it self it would have never pass. The Republicans got it through the only way they could with the port security act because no Senator will vote against anything that has to do with funding homeland security especially with the elections in one month. The Christian right and Republicans are setting there moral agenda for the rest of us and because we are out enjoying our lives while they spend all of their time trying to ruin our fun they are winning.

The Democrats are just as guilty for letting this pass, IMO. Check the link and find the graph about Harry Reid not killing the legislation when he could have. I don't know why he didn't stand up to this nonsense and say "this isn't right. You can't attach non-related items to a defense bill. We are blocking it."

I don't like this guy either.

France likes a nice monopoly on gaming so it's not quite the same, there is also no alcohol or tobacco advertising and draconian motoring laws,it's perhaps not as liberal as you believe.

Just recieved email from a third poker room informing me they are suspending all U.S accounts...As I posted earlier, I will not be leaving more than minimal money in gaming sites, including my beloved Pinnacle, preferring to pay fee for quick cashouts rather than risk shut downs with my money in there....

Made me sick to watch that reef.............I sometimes think that governments sole purpose is to create so many laws and regulations that nobody can follow them and they will have us all in legal trouble and under their thumb.

Maybe some people wake up and realize they are living under feudalism as their rights are stripped away one by one all in the name of protecting themselves of course. It has nothing to due with them not getting any $$$ lol and I can feel free to spend my life saving on crooked state lotteries but poker is the DEVIL.

Thank You Big Brother.

ps. The other day while making dinner i cut myself with a potato peeler, please ban these ASAP for I fear for my safety. It also would be good if you chip me and track my comings and goings just for my safety.

Guys, the politicians dont really give a damn about the christian moral majority...if they thought gambling was immoral theu would come down on vegas or horse racing or lotteries....FOLLOW THE MONEY....they triedtop the flow of money to offshore books through the WTO and failed...now they turn to their own legislature to stop the outgoing flow...I predict once the outgoing flow has stopped they will legalize and TAX domestic online gambling...thats all they are looking for....has nothin to do with moral values

They don't care about anyone but themselves! Why else would they spend 40 million dollars on there campain, if they didn't intend to steal it back with interest once elected. It's sad but true.

If you can't figure out the game that's being played then perhaps you should refrain from picking a team.

Did Al Queda have the right idea trying to smash that plane into the White House? I guess they were smarter than us and knew what a piece of politicians are.
