I get out on average 12 dollars a paycheck or so from this "stimulus" package. Really? Why? What is the point? What is 12 dollars going to do? Doesn't make much sense. Something needs to change now or this country is doomed.

you want a man, in 50 ****ing days, to somehow convince them all to abandon their electorate and do what he wants, and if he cant do it in 50 days, you feel that you know enough about how it works to deem him a failure

    allright dude
When you're the leader you do what it takes. Peoples retirements have lost overall 50% is 8 months. Fear is in the peoples eyes. No one knows what to do next. You need to spark hope and future in citizens. No way around it.

Carter stopped supporting the pro western Shah of Iran.

Carter supported the Afghans against the Russians.

Gas crisis on the home front.

Carter left office with over a 50% disapproval rating.

It is popular in some circles to blame others such as the United States, or Israel, or George Bush for the instability and radicalism in the Middle East while overlooking the role that Jimmy Carter played in the current situation. But it is a fact of history that Jimmy Carter played a key role in creating the two most important threats to global security today, namely Iran and North Korea.

There's not a dictator in the world Jimmy Carter doesn't hold in high esteem.

By the way, there are only 2 words necessary to describe how truly awful Jimmy Carter was as president - Misery Index.

The worst part is he just won't go away. He continues to be destructive even today. There's a reason the Democrats wouldn't let him speak at their convention.

Would you want him speaking at the convention after he was having meetings with Hamas.

I'm optimistic about Obama. I have to admit that it may not be that hard to look a genius after the total mess created by eight years of ignorance, but it's nice to have someone with a vision, rather than a blind ideology. (What a howler, by the way, that republicans can't even take responsibility for the mess they created, after inheriting the Clinton surplus, but instead blame it on ... who else, Clinton. But predictable. What else can ignorance do than stick its clueless head in the sand? Oh, and scream in indignation when the next person can't clean up their mess in under 50 days. Honest to God, not a dumber bunch on the planet.)

Solid Post! After watching Obama speaking in a open forum in Germany today, I will say for certain that he is the right person speaking on behalf of the U.S. He seem to say all the right things.
