First off, here's my story. I am an American working in China. Since I am in China, many news sources are unreliable. However, I am so lazy that I refuse to read Western news articles on the web. To motivate myself to read more news stories, I am willing to wager on anybody famous dying in the upcoming week. This will hopefully keep me glued to the news pages! Here are the rules:

- "The Week" will begin on 12:00 AM Pacific Time on February 6, 2012 and end at 12:00 AM Pacific Time on February 13, 2012.

- "Famous" will be defined as somebody whose passing is mentioned on at least 3/4 following websites: CNN.com, TMZ.com, ESPN.com, and CNBC.com. Each website must have a complete article that covers the death. The article must be over 100 words.

- If somebody dies between now and 11:59:59 PM PT Feb. 5 and coverage spills over into next week, IT DOES NOT COUNT! The person must physically depart this world in the given timeframe! Missing, in a coma, etc. DOES NOT COUNT! The person must be famous as a result of his past accomplishments. A murder-suicide by a no-name guy whose name is released later DOES NOT COUNT!

- You can only bet once. Max bet is 20 points. I'm only wagering a potential loss of 1000 points.

- Points must be transferred before 12:00 AM PT Feb. 6 for action.

Odds:

YES +2000 (20-1) between 12:00 AM PT Feb. 6 and 12:00 AM PT Feb. 8.
YES +1000 (10-1) between 12:00 AM PT Feb. 6 and 12:00 AM PT Feb. 10.
YES +500 (5-1) between 12:00 AM PT Feb. 6 and 12:00 AM PT Feb. 13.

NO -1000 (1-10) between 12:00 AM PT Feb. 6 and 12:00 AM PT Feb. 13.
