Not unlike today the very rich and powerful made almost all the important decisions in the forming of our country. However, just luck and determination by a select few gave us the nation we have today. Our republic could have easily been very different.

I used to print, bind and mail a couple of those magazines. American History and Civil War Times, 30 years ago.
