Default Exposing The Student Loan Racket

Today on meet the press, they tried to make Ron Paul seem heartless and crazy for wanting to eventually get the government out of the business of student loans. Liberal sycophants on Huffpo are bashing Ron for it too.
Far from heartless, it would be a good thing for students.

Read the infographic at the website below:

In addition to all the ways this graphic explains, this government involvement in student loans directly leads to inflated prices for college education.

This is what you people always do. You latch on to one minor detail and miss the big picture. College prices are more expensive because government no longer subsidizes higher education as much as it used to, in part because people like Ron Paul think government should just let people stay dumb and fall behind the rest of the world.

I am not sure if I got this from the Daily Paul or not. But, when I first read it, I saved it to my computer. I have posted it to Facebook several times and it always stirs up a conversation. This is a great tool to help explain Ron Paul's position on eventually ending student loans.

You should maybe look into real dollar value of Fed Grants today as opposed to 30 years ago....not keeping up with inflation....the govt intervention into giving financial aid packages too much to be maintained since influencing the breakup of the top tier Universities decades ago...endowment sizes between private/public institutions and the basic fact that boards/regents spent FAR too much on tenured professors and facility wow factors instead of quality education....and the simple research costs that they have to deal with to keep pace with other sectors to keep $$ flowing in which all contribute to price pressures on tuition rates.

If what they did on Meet the Press shocks you, I suggest you look and see what network that show is on.

A student loan is designed to help students pay for university tuition, books, and living expenses. It allows students to borrow money with interest accruing during school and subsidized loans allow them to defer interest accrual until they are no longer in school. Student loans are becoming the number one source of debt for Americans. The White House declared a new plan Wednesday to help decrease that problem. The initiative is one of numerous moves the president is making to increase the economy without the support of Congressional Republicans. Administration announces plan to ease student loan burden. It is good to know that the administration have made a decision to help the students. The administration plans to pay for the program by encouraging borrowers with both federally guaranteed loans and direct loans to consolidate both into the Direct Loan program.

It's a complete joke. These idiots spend 100's of thousands plus interest to get a job that pays 60k a year and on top of that with the GOP off sourcing 90% of the jobs, these 60k jobs don't even exist anymore.

Both democrats and republicans are responsible for the massive loss of jobs that were outsourced. It's not just one party that had it's hand in the cookie jar. It's both.

Sorry Philly, Every problem we have as a nation can be traced back to the GOP which is 100% responsible. It's amazing that a party with such a poor track record and is hated by nearly everyone even shows up for these elections. If it wasn't for their deep pockets and election rigging there would not be even one in power today.

Aye, but who's fault is it now we don't a job plan? Two years of NO and since they've been in power what have they done to further the job plan?

Face it, we are going to be fcked for another year, because these people want 'bama out.

If they get their way in 2012 and oust 'bama, they will be too fat and lazy to do anything, because they fcked off for 4 years.

As far as raising taxes, I agree. As far as foring companies to unionize, that is all on Obama and the Democrats. The bottom line is very simple. I am going to have my product produced as cheaply as I can. If that means going to China, then screw the union workers and their Democratic cronies.

As far as student loans are concerned, I think that a student who leaves college for any reason (graduation, drop out, etc...) should have 6 months to find a job and start to pay back the loan. You have to give them time, evern though that these students should have been applying for jobs during their senior year instead of downing six packs.

The educational system and the government enable one another. Sound familiar?, like the government and companies and the government and banks.

The educational system asks the government to raise the maximum amount allowed by a student to borrow. The government says yes. Then, guess what, tuition increases to just below that maximum level permitted by a student to borrow. Scam is what I call this.
