    edge sorting hasnt been declared illegal anywhere.

    the casino used cards that had imperfections. study them. beat them.

    card counting isn't illegal either.

    Yup... so when I show up tomorrow at the casino, and they've changed the blackjack to 6/5, removed surrender, and the dealer can hit on soft 17, am I not effectively paying for his cheating?

    if the casino wins in this case be careful gamblers everywhere. If they can not pay the guy for their own mistakes then they are pretty much making up all the rules as they go.
