Bodog "gurantees" the first seat my ass.

Instead of paying out they just waited an hour and did nothing.

What a joke of a site.....They have "Guranteed xxxx" tournaments.....the only gurantee is that if the guarantee number is not reached they will not honor their tournament details.

The douchebag customer service said that gurantee does not mean gurantee and that tournament rules are subject to change at anytime.

If the tournament it is a satalite to a tournament that only costs $150 and the tournament above is 30 bucks then it would only take 5 people to have bodog not have to actually "guantee" anything. In this case two people sat down to play in the tournament for the "one seat is guranteed".

Where is the gurantee?? If they only play the tournament once they have reached the amount of the future seat. They are in affect guranteeing they will never pay anything unless what is up for grabs has already been paid for by the entrants.

Crooks if you ask me.

? Five people would equal the price of the future seat anyways. How many people is minimum? Makes no sense, they wouldn't have started unless the guranteed seat was already paid for and they were off the hook. But apparently there is no hook and they are full of shit.

absolute poker has a bunch of guarantees that don't stop accepting registers until 55 mins into the tournament. It looks like their might be some layover, then it always covers.

Yep, alot of these don't start if they don't have enough players despite the guarantee but after about ten minutes or so you can quit and get your buy-in back...

There were a few of the WCOOP larger non-hold'em events that didn't meet there guarantees but I can't remember seeing any smaller buy-ins guarantees not meeting their promised amounts... Fulltilt used to a few here and there but since they extended registration these opportunities have pretty much dried up as well...

Most of their guaranteed tourney's have 5+ player minimums. Says so right in the tournament details of the main lobby.

You're all wrong, and this old posting is very fishy as poster shows no money in account to even buy in. How does he know if winner was paid or not? SR are you saying that you are indeed one of the two players at table. Are you saying tournament was canceled after sitting down? Canceling is always done prior to start if minimum is not reach.
Yes bodog does guarantee and honor first seat no matter all many registers unless there is stated minimum which is normally five at Bodog but appears in this game there was none.

This screen shot is from 2 hours into the tournament, the other player bailed after an hour or so. No minimum is posted in the lobby for this tournament. There were 2 people registered, they sat us down. then waited until they filled up enough seats so they didn't have to pay, and since that never happened they just left it running until we left and refunded the 36.

My question still stands, where is the gurantee? If they wait until they cover the first seat every time. Its a blatent shame, and false advertising. There is no 5 person minimum listed anywhere in the tourney lobby. Hell it only needs 6 people to cover! Thats like saying 5000K GURANTEED 1 dollar buy in........(5000 people minimum to start)

no there wasent 5 people so they canceled the tourney on bodog 5 people got to reg and stay untill the start of the game your trippen well you got your money back the min on almost any tourney is 5 im sure it is 5 i dont see it in your screen shot 2 players is not enough

I see what he's asking and tend to agree. Why have a guarantee if the tournament is only run if certain peramaters are met where the buy in would match the prize money? I guess you are guaranteeing that the tournament will have a certain amount of prize money if the minimum amount of players is met, but it is a bit misleading. At least have something in the fine print in the tournament lobby.

With sites stretching their late registration out longer and longer, the guarnatee is rarely not met anymore. I signed up for one not long ago and at the time the first hand was dealt there were 1500 players. AN HOUR or so later when registration finally closed, there were close to 8000 players. The guarantee covered by a country mile, but that wasn't the type of tournament I signed up for.

There shouldn't even be a debate over this. SR most definitely have the right to be upset if the tournament is canceled because of a lack of people, but ONLY if there is no min req.
