Arrow Three reasons to back the PACK tonight.........

1. McCarthy over Childress----I regard this has a semi-huge coaching mismatch. By the way, McCarthy is 4-0 vs Childress, and I see this trend continuing tonight.

2. Monday Night home team .....as a small favorite or dog. In this case, a small favorite of -1.5. Yes, this trend has not been as strong in the last few years, but in the grand scheme of things, this will play itself out to be a strong intangilbe over the next 30 years, much as it has been since the inception of MNF.

3. Look at John Q. Public and his take on this game...................

I'm really not seeing any value on either a side or a total in this one currently, fishy. I think the Vikings at +3 was the only play in this one and that time has come and gone. I got this line early in the week and made a small play on it.. There are too many question marks for both teams in this contest. Aaron Rodgers could come out and lead the Pack to an easy victory or he could be rattled and throw 4 picks. He hasn't shown much in the preseason to prove that he can effectively lead this team to victory. Minnesota's improved defense, especially the line, will be giving him additional pressure, along with the emotional pressure he'll be facing in light of the Favre scenario. The Vikings will have the obvious advantage in the ground game, as well. However, the Packers will surely load the box and force Tavaris Jackson to beat them, which he has not proven himself capable of doing. I think this will play out as a heavily defensive game but with the total at 37.5, the under now has very little value as well. But Minnesota has the advantage in defense and the running game tonight. The two question marks at QB will probably decide the fate of this game. GL with your play. Maybe we can both squeak out a win in this one.

I disagree totally, this is a bad spot for Rodgers to me making his first pro start, vs. probably the best defensive line in the NFL. Coaching mismatches and Monday Night Football trends won't mean a thing when the Minnesota defensive line spends the whole game in the Green Bay backfield.

Packers were a fluke last year. Draw a line through that running line.

2qb this week made their first Nfl starts this week. Result 2-0, maybe 3-0 after 2night?

That has nothing to do with this game and neither of the other first time starters faced a defense this tough.

That fluke was called Brett Favre. With the threat of an effective passing game, it makes the running game that much more potent. If the Packers are unable to establish the passing game this year, Ryan Grant will certainly suffer since defenses will be able to load the box and force Rodgers to beat them.

It is very difficult to have any confidence in Tavaris Jackson.

My main angle is the QB angle

Jackson is pitiful and easy to stop run if a guy cannot pass

Jackson sucks, but he is not the reason Vikings will win tonight. Those would be the Minnesota DL putting Rodgers on his ass all game and AP giving the Vikes all the offense they need.

GB has a more than solid DL of their own, and also a very solid LB trio and solid CB's...........with KGB healthy on one DE slot and KAMPMAN on the other side, they will make life misearable for Jackson time and time again when he is in the pocket.

Oh I am not knocking the Green Bay defense by any means. It is just that AP is the biggest offensive weapon on either team, and in what should be a low scoring game, that should be good enough.

All the Vikings have to do is run at KGB. He is not a good run defender.

Well the problem there is that Rodgers needs time to get him the ball.

Good luck and may the best man win.

By the way, taking a shot and bet that there will be a defensive or special teams TD in this game............+180 @ 1/3 the amount of my game wager.

Huh? If Rodgers can't get the ball to Driver, he won't have much of an impact. AP is by far the better talent. Teams have been loading the box against the Vikings since his arrival and still he puts up big numbers. Driver's performance depends on much more than him.

Check AP and his performance in GB's games last year.......nothing spectacular, and in fact, GB sent him packing in their second meeting.

The problem being that the Vikes will often run the ball with AP in passing situations as they have greater confidence in AP than in their passing game...

B
I think you just talked yourself into betting GB with that statement.

If Minn wants to run on 3rd and 6, 4th and 4, or 2nd and 15........go right ahead.

.......and they probably will with Childress and no throwing QB on hand.

Again, the PACK are the play tonight.............just love it that the masses are on the Vikings, it's a beautiful thing.
