The newer models are alot better than the older ones. I don't have one myself, but several of my friends do and they love them.

    Brick,

If you do end up getting one, just buy one flat out...the financing is ridiculous on them...

personally, I wouldn't buy one...I'd invest in a gym membership at a place like 24 Hour Fitness that's open all of the time...I know it's a pain to go down there sometimes, but if you get one by your house, you're cool...also, it's a great way to meet broads...

If you work out now, getting a machine may be a good thing. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they will get in shape when they get a bowflex. Truth is that if they didn't work out before, they won't now. That's why most bowflexes sit around collecting dust.

I picked up a bandflex from ebay a few years back. Basically the same exercises, but not so overpriced as bowflex.

I myself had a bandflex. Try that instead of the bowflex. Its alot cheaper. And you CANNOT get the kind of results that they show on tv. The Bowflex is for maintaining your GYM built body. You cannot get a big time body like that using the bowflex. If you just using it to get a lil exercise and not looking 2 build muscle than it will be worth it.

That sounds like it would have a lot of truth to it.

Think I saw that gal in Shemales of Chicago. Believe she's just got jock itch.

Do what you probably do best, Brick: 12-oz curls. As the old saying goes, "Eat right, exercise, die anyway."

Don't get a Bowflex. that is not even real weight. Go get a gym membership and go to the gym, use free weights, do compound movements( squat, bench press, deads) Go on a 2 on 1 off split for start.

Eat 1.5 times your bodyweight in protein. East good fats like almonds, flaxseed oil. Avoid saturated fats. Eat eggs, chicken, fish, lean beef, oatmeal.

What are your goals anyway? Weight loss, lean muscle, just get big?

And to the poster who thought that guy got like tjhat from the bowflex. Truth of it is, he pronbably never uses that. Just a paid person to do the commercial. No bodybuilder (if you want to call him that) would be caught dead on one of those things. Truth of it is, he's not that big, just defined. Easier to look like that than you might think. How he looks is all diet and not necesarily working out.

What? Just a paid actor? No, say it ain't so!

Next, you'll tell me that every girl that comes around after I use it won't be driven to masturbation by my mere presence.

Anybody who uses this $100 contraption twice a day (15-20 minutes) for six months will definitely have results. http://www.thebullworker.com/main.htm. The wall chart is the key to working on all muscle groups.

Then get a $2000 bowflex to maintain that body.

If your in tremendous shape, you sure as hell didn't get that way from a Bowflex.

That machine is just resistance weight. The thing is just meant for girls and weak pussified politicans.

If anyone is serious about putting on muscle, go to the gym and use free weights.

Go to www.anabolex.com and learn more. You can even purchase juice from there if you want. So funny how easy it is to get stuff, but yet this weak ass governemnt tries to act like they are winning this bogus drug war.

Yes, per day. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should consome 300 grams of protein a day. Not really that hard. You can get 100 grams of that just from a big protein shake, a can of tuna, and 1 chicken breast. Good place to get quality protein powder cheap is www.allthewhey.com

It's best to divide it up throughout the day. say 6 meals a day at 50 grams of protein for each meal. Any excess protein your body can't use all at once is stored as fat.

Don't forget complex carbs to like oatmeal, pasta, rice.

Good snack is natural peanut butter.

    Oh, grams?

Good, 'cause I had to quit 50 pounds into my daily protein serving.

I have no idea what that last sentence means.

Generally, in the US, humans are weighed in pounds. Thus, 1.5 times the body weight of a 200-pound man would be 300 pounds. Not 300 grams.

(Hence Doug's original cynicism. He was not being serious. )

    Got ya Winston.

I think my response was obvious, but I know how the world is not all that bright sometimes. If someone wants to experiment and eat 300 POUNDS of protein, let me know what happens. Try it with steak.

Just make sure you flush alot and don't go away from the house for too long.

not a bad idea on the gym membership...i think i will use the bowflex to get in shape for the gym. im the guy that yells and screems doing the 30 pounders with spit flying all over my face and going cross eyed when the bar comes near my head.

Well thank you. Believe it or not, that thread I started looking for advice about exercise equipment was not actually for myself.

I'm quite happy with my level of physical fitness - girls already react to my bod like the girl pictured in the first post here - but thank you anyway.
