Default Which forum has the smartest posters..???

I have been reading three other forums besides this one for about 8 months now.... There seems to be a noticable differance in the posters...

It seems like Major Wager has the smartest posters followed by TheRx, EOG, then SBR... SBR does seem to have the dumbest posters of them all as a whole...

If you stopped posting at SBR then the average IQ of all posters would increase by 43.

I think you're right, I always thought smileys were for 8-year-olds but you certainly seem to be bucking that trend.

Have you considered leaving?

Well, that goes without saying considering you post here.

09/06/2008 - 07:05 PM CFB [372] ARIZONA U -24½-110
Score: TOLEDO(16) - ARIZONA U(34) LOSE

LOOK BookMaker is tarded like SBR....

Not only did they misgrade this but they graded it before the game was over....

The final is 41-16....

Ok maybe they don't have people from SBR grading their sh*t... They fixed it already

09/06/2008 - 07:05 PMCFB [372] ARIZONA U -24½-110

the thing is this..

majorwager's avg age is probably mid 45.. when i was posting there years ago, it consisted of mainly bookmakers, ex bookmakers, linemakers, owners of books and old time gamblers in their 50's and 60's.. these guys knew gambling inside out.. 93% of the discussions was about gambling.. only gambling topics. it was great.. i loved it.. all we talked about was numbers and gambling.. it was great. we had some great discussions back then..but today, MW is nowhere of what it used to be from 2000-2005..

whereas here at sbr, there are only about 3% of the topics are about gambling.. alot of kids here too.. this place is more like a chat room than anything.. very rare to get into any type of gambling talk here, besides everyone saying who they like and what's the lock.. (which is stupid as hell) that's not gambling..

and finally, where mw's avg age has always been in the 40's.. here at sbr, 94% of the posters are little kids between 17-23.. who have hardly any gambling experience. they play with 1 book and lay -110 and just bet favorites and think they will get rich doing this.. if you dont believe me, next time there is a cubs afternoon game on WGN, just check the in game thread and you will see 99.7% of the posters are on cubs -275 and no one is on dog +245..

too many kids here and not enough old school gamblers like the good old days at MW.. there's just not enough experience here at sbr.. too many kids..

SBR was, without question, the sharpest forum two or three years ago.

Now, not so much. Nicky's post really said it all...

Good post. You want to talk numbers we got Ganchrow and his friends in a forum where all they do is the science of gambling. In this forum, which is called Players Talk, we got a forum where players just talk.

I would agree MW and before them Bettorsworld had some good talent. A lot of the bookmakers of that era were regular posters. It was fun but then they all grew up, got rich or went broke and moved on.

Ive been reading the big 4 forum regularly, SBR, RX, EOG, and Covers. These forums is like the NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox new rivals, hard to differentiate one for the other. Overall, SBR has the best folk for all around sports. RX seems to have the better CFL capper than what we got here. EOG seems to be pretty good at MLB, but LT and others are about as solid as they come. Covers also has some interesting kin folks too, so there opinion are valuable too. Managed to uncover some interesting info during the Arena season at covers.

Hands down SBR is the best, just take a peek at the SBR best bet Thread. If you don't believe it, just see how consistent the poster's are here.

donny you bozo... when i say gambling, i don't mean those fukkin math formulas that ganchy puts up... something that looks like this

(x/a*b/1<2@/1-00<5^/1000=6>)

i mean real hard core gambling talk.. like gambling situations, when a book offers you a line and.. .(well, something happened to me yesterday and watch this week for a thread about it) this will be exactly what i mean.. not some dumb math formulas.. wtf is that? how does this help us? you still have to handicap the line and beat the #.. which is the toughest part to do, not figure out a formula.

we talked about books and owners were talking about customers and how people bet and tricks to beating #'s.. we were all sharing the info.. donny, listen here, don't ever put my gambling skills down cause, when it comes to gambling, i'd embarass you big time..

donny, i've forgotten more about gambling than you'll ever know.. (sorry, i just wanted to always say that, it's my fav expression ) but it's the truth..

jj, you're right, i was at MW yesterday and i didn't recognize it.. the threads had nothing to do with gambling and lots of chat talking.. can't believe how much it's changed.. ouch. i miss the good old days there and the great posters we had..

well, at least russy kept the old ugly green color for his website.. he never changed that. russy is a nut.. but what a temper on him.. i am still scared of the guy.

I'm not trying to talk like a salesman or anything, but there's a forum for everyone here. The numbers guys got a hangout, industry first guys can chill in the Industry lounge, those wanting to relax without talking about ptspreads all day long can talk in players Talk. And those wanting to post hardcore porn videos can relax in the Private Zone.

There will be some characters that cause a stir from time to time, such is the nature of any forum, but all in all I feel SBR is extremely balanced. Hell, you can even relax in the chat room or play with your mySBR page or watch the free lines service if you need a breather from posting.

there are maybe 10 safe books now along with about 10 credit shops
Book owners are more secret now due to USA gambling laws
Posting is different now on the major forums it about life and some gambliing mixed in

The old days offshore gambling was not commercial as compared to today and lots more young guys today betting and posting so the styles are different bs the old forum days

The young crowd puts a refreshing feel here that makes us older guys feel young again

Good post. A few years ago there was free money everywhere if you knew what vig was. There were many more sportsbooks...so many that you could point out scalps and week lines and the sportsbook that was off would never hear about it. Bookmakers were posting about other bookmakers and the bets they were making. These days people have to keep any advantage to themselves.

I haven't seen any better discussions on the industry or capping than here. Usually people who make the once a month post about any forum on the decline are the ones who stick to the general discussion.

That is fine, but that has nothing to do with this thread. What's even more amusing is that Nicky claims to be a math whiz yet won't go to the one place where gambling math is discussed.
