Default Biggest screwjob youve suffered...

Name it...

For me its gotta be the Pats ML in the superbowl, right after Randy scored the TD I took the Pats ML in a live bet -2500, and lost big...

few years back, Maui basketball tourney. Had Indiana -2 1/2, they are up 4 vs Gonzaga, Gonazaga throws up an airball and as time expires they put it back in to lose by 2. I sat there stunned for a long time. Indiana had like a 16 point lead with 5 mins to go too, just got it bled down to nothing and then the final put back sealed it.

College basketball last year. Big on Wisconsin, i believe at -11.5 against Illinois. About 5 seconds left, Wisconsin up 12 and with the ball, Illinois steals a pointless pass, runs down and lays it in to lose by 10.

Wow, I think the toughest screwjobs in history (never experienced, just heard of) where

1) NFL game where a 60+ yard pass attempt goes incomplete but the offense gets a bogus pass interference penalty, ball at the 1 yard line, they score a TD. And get this, the defense is soo disgusted that they walk off the field and dont even play the extra point, so the offense just walks the ball in for a 2 point conversion, completing the ultimate screwjob

2) I also heard of a MLB game where a walk off multiple run Homer was nailed and the fans went crazy and came onto the field, since the base runners never "touched" home plate, only 1 run was credited and -1.5 RL backers got screwed BIG TIME.

#2 was the Robin Ventura Grand Slam single...the most retarded ruling ever, not that i cared or had the game, it was a playoff game on a football saturday i believe, but it seems to have ripped a lot more people off than it helped.

#1 i seem to recall was doug Flutie taking a ball in on that 2 point conversion, but i could be wrong

Memphis -2 and under 147.5 parlay NCAA championship game. Up 9 less than two minutes to go. Plus I had a futures prop on Rose winning MVP of Final Four. All goes up in smoke in 10 seconds.

God damn it someone had to bring it up. Maybe the worst day of my life. I had straight bets on both and parlayed them small as well. I was watching it in on of the frat houses and we all cracked open a brew to celebrate with 2 minutes left, talk about going from elation to depression in an instant.

Biggest bullcrap that ever happened in my 10yr gambling career was an ivy league game few years ago.

Princeton fails to make a single FG in the final 12 min of the game yet gets foul after foul to keep em in it. Then on the final play of the game clock operator doesn't start the clock for 2 sec which allows Princeton to come down and get fouled with .1 sec left. Then they won and covered in OT. Biggest fix in history.

The 4/24 Houston NBA playoff game this year where I have u185.5. Score 93-92, and the team that's behind shoots a brick. Defensive rebound, and foul called with 0.9s left as the guy flails at the rebounder. Multiple DVR replays show clearly that no contact was actually made. The guy bricks the first FT, and the other team has no timeouts, so missing the 2nd FT is clearly correct. He tries to miss the second FT... and swishes it to bust my under.

Phantom foul followed by the guy making a FT he was trying to miss.

now i found it...

Gonzaga/Indiana from November 02 in Maui..had Indiana -2 1/2, they are up 17 with 5 mins to go...

Up 3 with like 5 secs to go...Gonzaga shoots a three, its a AIR BALL and the jackass catches it and put in a 2 pointer at the buzzer and Indiana wins by 1, i never felt sicker.

i remember all 3 of those games well!

the skins were down 13-0 with under 5 mins to go, scored a td to make it 13-7, and got the ball back real fast, scored again on a bomb and won 14-13

A few years ago I had Wisconsin (football) @ UNLV. Wiz had big lead in 4th quarter, then someone pulled the plug on the field(power outage). They called the game 1 minute before the 55min. minimum! I still believe it was a huge better on UNLV that caused it!

Bills +3.5 against New England, when Wade Phillips didnt send his team back out for the extra point. They just handed the ball to Vinateri for a 2 pointer! Lost by 4! Was at the game also! Stunned for a while! couldnt move for 30 minutes! I still want to punch Phillips in the mouth!

UConn - Duke a few years back NCAA finals. UConn up by 6 (-4 the line) and Duhon shoots a hail Mary three behind the half court line which he makes after hitting the board and UConn loses by 3 at the buzzard.

well some, like my Maui game, or the New England scoring a 2 point conversion because buffalo didn't send out their team are really memorable for different reasons. not talking about luck here, fluky stuff that probably should never have happened
