I prefer betting on-line to phoning in bets by a huge margin. I'm not even sure why. There is very little difference in the amount of effort. Having that taped audio recording doesn't seem like a bad thing.

it sure is alot easier to place your bets online. i guess i'll go with placing them online over the over the phone.

Beeing from Europe I would have to say online insted of calling.
My experience is that it is much faster to do it online than over the phone. at some books it take up to 3 minuts to make a singel wager over the phone!
I only use phone if I what a higer limit on a certain game

I only like placing bets over the phone with my local. Have called in bets to the books less than 3 times in my life.

Mudcat,
I completely agree with you...I didn't place a bet via the phone during the last two years...I just like not having to deal with a person...a couple of clicks is all I need...less line changes too...

I think phone calls are for people who either can't afford a computer or
for old men with bald heads and long beards! Especially these CSR's that
can barely speak english!!

being from europe i also hate calling in, especially because these people don't understand me. i was under the impression my english is quite reasonable and british people have no trouble understanding me, but everytime i speak with a cs of an american book I get into trouble. just spelling my accountnr for them is big trouble (Sir, did you say W from Wictor or P from Pictor?, No, i said V from Victor!, Oh, you said B from Bictor, this kind of thing). I always wonder is it me, is it them, or is it us both.
anyhow, i prefer doing everything online with a sportsbook. it sucks when you have to call in for a withdrawal for example (and doesn't make any sense either for that matter).

If I can bet online I will, if I have to bet by phone I will. I have about 20 books on speedial, but I only use three or four everday. I would say I bet at about twice as many books online every day.

i still phone my bets in everyday to my locals. so, i guess i'm just old school.

online is quicker, but especially in baseball season i need to call in wagers due to work, Bowmans and wsex are by far the best wager clerks in my opinion.
