    Default Jim Thome's hot start

The new White Sox DH is 9-for-26 (.346) with 2 doubles, 5 home runs, 8 walks, 8 RBI and 9 runs scored in his first 8 games this season. His slugging percentage is 1.000 and his OPS is an insane 1.514 - twice what it was in 2005. Certainly there has to be some drop off, but if he stays healthy, you think he can stay close to this effective all season?

I think it's a given that the average will be below .300 but his homerun, walks and rbi totalts should remain consistently good.

He should hit well over 100 home runs.

Of course, if he does, everyone will tell him he took steroids for which he should replay "so what if I did".

I gave everybody a headsup when he came out of spring training on fire. He is crushing the ball right now.

He had been a hot tamale. I passed on him in my fantasy drafts because I figured he would be striking out a lot. He still can, and expect his average to dip down as well. Im sure he will be pushing 50 homeruns this year.

I also expect his average to drop. When he gets cold he really gets ice cold.
