    Default Warning for Sportingbet

I got to warn for Sportingbet's unreliable computer system. First it has no warnings if they change line from the point you click on your bet to the point where you confirm your bet. I got a lot of bookies and this is the only bookie I know of that would not make sure that the customer knows that the odds he chose to bet on is the one he is confirming that he bet for as well.

What makes it even worse is that on my betting receipt it tells me that I win the amount that I should have had had they not changed their odds.

    My betting receipt:
    Totala insatsen:
    SEK 450.00

    Du kan vinna:
    SEK 855.00

    Spelet innehåller:
    Evenemang
    Utfall
    Typ av spel
    Odds

    Israel v Hungary
    Under 155.5
    Total Points
    1.727

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Totala insatsen: SEK 450.00

    Möjlig vinst: SEK 855.00

As you see I bet for SEK 450 and the possible winnings according to their receipt is SEK 855 which corresponds to odds of 1.90. Exactly the same odds I was chosing at first stage. As I did not look VERY careful before confirming my bet as I was in a hurry I did not notice that they changed things at the last step of confirmation and obviously they did not even change possible winnings. For the odds tha they got saved in their system 1.727 they should payout 777.17 which they also did.

    But
    (1) they changed odds with a HUGE lack of warning that odds has been changed. In fact I believe that only way I could notice it was to take a look at odds in that receipt. No highlighting at all that it changed.
    (2) they had possible winnings corresponding to the odds I actually wanted to bet for namely 1.90.

As I noticed the incorrect odds just after I saw my receipt by pure coincidence I immediately sent them an email trying to void the bet but got no answer and later talked to their live support and they refused to void the bet. Now I had to live with a pretty poor odds for my betting idea because their system is awful.

This is NOT first time Sportingbet messed up things for me. In the past they have registered bets twice (think that is solved now but not sure and won't test it) and they have had (and still to same point got) a very odd way of noting what bet that is under and over a line in e.g. basketball. Very embarrassing of such big bookmaker to have such awful warning system and such awful computer system.

This night I also tried to make them pay after showing my receipt but in their system they only save the odds and not the possible payout they tell the customer so I got no case. And sure, they can always say that they have their rights but not even when I wanted to void the bet they allowed to that even if it was due to awful warning system.

I have never had problems with this at other bookies but at Sportingbet I had it several times. Unless you want to check your bets very much in detail all the time stay away from this poor bookmaker.

I've always had a red box saying that "Odds have changed since you made your selection"... certainly never had one settled at a different price..

I get a clear warning when odds have changed when I go to the confirmation screen.

The only problem I ever had with Sportingbet was their lack of published betting limits. If you tried a bet over $500, you'd hit confirm then you'd have to wait as long as a minute to find out if it was going to be accepted. Sometimes they'd have me yelling at my computer screen, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ?!?!?!

So for a long time I just basically considered them to be a $500 max. I didn't use them much this baseball season and then just lately I've noticed they are showing some higher set limits on baseball which get accepted right away.

Before betwwts started using sininter's software, they would do stuff like that all the time. I got burned a few times because of it. It's been almost a year since I used SPortingbet's software, but I don't recall ever having any problem like that. But PSortingbet has a very strict policy of not cancelling bets.

That you get a clear warning could either be because they got different software at different sportingbet sites. What you call a clear warning might also depend on what you consider a clear warning. Other sites would stop me when I press confirm if odds is changed.

But how to explain that their software/computer system gives you wrong possible winnings after you confirmed bet. That is just ridiculous.

One more funny story about Sportingbet I want to tell you all.

I try the Swedish live chat. It is down so it directs me to English live chat. There I try to solve this errand. They tell me that I should contact Swedish customer service. I ask them when I can contact it. English live chat service tells me that they don't know. I tell them to check that for me. I think that is the least you expect from a bookmaker's customer service. But no they tell me that I should keep trying to get in contact with them.

Isn't it VERY embarrassing of a big bookmaker that they can't check within their own company when I can have help? And isn't it as embarrassing that only Swedish personel can help me with my issue?

I think that it is EXTREMELY embarrassing. My suggestion is that SBR rates down the customer service of Sportingbet unless they are willing to make these improvements. Everyone I talk about this with thinks that it is laughable that the bookmaker works like this and my friends agree with me when I show them my script from talking with them.

Is the OP's problem with sportingbet.com? They use totally different software at that site to their other operations like sportingbetusa, sportsbook etc.

I've not placed too many bets at sportingbet.com so I've never had this happen, but I do know that with the alternative software it clearly advises upon a line change.

It's not just Sportingbet. I find that it's symptomatic of the vast majority of CS departments at a whole host of internet-based operations.

Even at top rated books, I find that the CS suck most of the time. At numerous A rated books I've emailed questions/queries which have gone ignored.

Same with online casinos. I even had a live chat with Neteller the other day and was asking them a question that I would have expected would be very easy to answer. They couldn't help me because only the London office had that information and they were closed.

Maybe I've just come to expect a poor level of service from these guys so my expectation level is pretty low.

I think people think that because they are publicly traded that they will be safe but all I ever see is "Sportsbook.com screwed me" at places like Covers.com and gambling email lists. They are not going to cheat you on purpose but it seems that if they make a mistake they say **** you we dont care.

I think this place just does not care and has too much Euro influence. Also I think they are a alrge outfit with many spinoffs so they do not care about the player.

A book really to stay away from

Just the problem with live chat is so obvious in this case. When I press on live chat it tells me that Scandinavian chat is not available and that I should try the English instead. When I go to the English they tell me that they can't help me. Then I ask them when Swedish live help will be available then first tells me that I will have to check continously and other tells me that it is now available (and when I check that it is not available any longer). Still have not been able to discuss my errand with Scandinavian chat and I still got no answer to my email requesting to void my bet. Discussed it with them on live help but least you can expect is that they still answer your emails.

Not interested in phoning them just because their live chat sucks so hugely. When I asked Sportingbet English chat he told me that this is sportingbet.com, pointing out to me that I was at wrong place, pretty funny isn't it? I actually wanted to talk with sportingbet.com so what was wrong :S

Two friends of mine has had problems with sportingbet as well.

One wanted a clear answer why they had a bet where not all competitors was included and why it would be lost if someone outside the bet would win when it was only 4 players available to bet on. After this discussion they limited him to very low amount despite having lost money on sportingbet in long run.

Other friend got limited at Sportingbet to $7 despite a losing record there.

Pure joke this bookie. I will keep it just to make sure I can win my money back on real value bets. Will be a pleasure when I am on positive numbers!

Well, first of all you have to differentiate some Sportingbet sites. I'm talking here mainly about their european local sites. I hear they are very strict there and your example proves it, as you are using a swedish Sportingbet.

However the main site (Sportingbet.com in english) is much much better and you will not find yourself limited so quickly there.
