I deposited 2,000 at a book i never would have. i assumed becasue of beat the prick i would get a 15% sbr bonus and eligabilty for beat the prick. now i am being told that i may not get these becasue while i did everything properly, when i created my account at the book, i may not have clicked on the sbr link to the book. i may have simply typed in the books webste. i have pmed Sean (a moderator) and he tells me if i did this i may not be eligable. i would feel very screwed by sbr if this happened. i feel tricked into a deposit of a large amount of my moeny. i dont even think it said you must click on our link, going to the site is no good. i am nervous as hell over this. 2k is a lot of money. whats the deal here??

I checked with "CLoo" about the very thing and it does say clearly that you have to go to the site via SBR's links... I made sure I did that so get the wallet out SBR...

It says right under step one, "once you've decided on your new book, click that sponsor's link or banner and you'll be directed to their website". I'm not sure why you wouldn't click the links that say "Join Here" through the registration screen, but if you elected not to and decided to type in the URL yourself as you said, then unfortunately you didn't properly sign up for this contest bud. ![]() |

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you have to signup through them to be eligible/collect the bonus. If you are nervous about depositing that amount of money then perhaps you should have deposited less. You may be able to contact the book and tell them that you meant to signup through SBR. Maybe they will accomodate you...

i may have, not sure. in my mind i clicked on the link and it was a bad one so i just typed in the site. i told the website and sbr that i was doing this for the contest. it should have said in huuuuGGGGGGE LETTERS THAT I NEEDED TO CLICK ON THE LINK. IN THE RULES UNDER GETTING STARTED IT JUST SAYS THIS:. no mention of needing to click on their link. i feel scrwed here
Contestants are required to open a NEW sportsbook account with one of the following sponsors (in accordance with the rules and policies of each book) and make a minimum deposit of $100 (pre-existing accounts do not qualify):

If he was trying to sign up at The Pig, he should get a pass since your link was broken. Was it The Pig, Bubba?

Guys, from the original post and what he details happening it wasn't completely clear why he typed in the link himself. That's what caused the original responses to his case, SBR isn't trying to "screw" anybody here and we'll address this broken link situation officially soon. It's almost 10PM right now so we can't expect instant fixes to situations which may arise after hours.

ok crazy. just to be clear, i didnt give the link much thought. i just assumed sign up and give sbr your user ID, no big deal. i had NO CLUE that it would matter at all or anybody would even be able to tell. the link didnt work so i just typed in my site. gave it 0 thought, i didnt think there would be a difference. if i did, i would have contacted sbr obviously. this has been a frustrating few hours

The rules are not clear on this matter. They need to be redone.
I was about to make a deposit at a book I signed up at for the 128 man handicap contest, but I have no idea if I clicked the link at the top of the page. My experience in the past with those links has been they are inconsistent. |
