I was watching The Nets streak come to an end yesterday and they were wearing their old ABA uniforms. It brought back some great memories. Growing up as a kid I watched Nets game in the 70's. This is when Dr. J was in his prime. Their lineup was:
G: Brian Taylor,
G: Super John Williamson,
C: Billy Paultz
F: Dr. J
F: Larry Kenon
Bench players: Wendell Ladner, Al Skinner (BC coach)
Coach was Kevin Loughery. Assistant Rod Thorn (now GM of the Nets)...Classic teams. Once the Nets sold Dr. J to Philly and then moved a year later, I totally lost interest in them and stuck with the Knicks.

Anyone remember some of the other teams and stars?

Billy Cunningham of the Carolina Cougars who then moved to St. Louis who had Marvin Barnes.
Maurice Lucas and Dan Issel on Kentucky.
Mel Daniels, Darnell Hillman (Dr. Fro) of Indiana, and
George Gervin of San Antonio....Great league. It paved the way for today's 3 point shot.
