I know there are some dishonest ones, such as the random guy who got caught fabricating his record a while ago that we all enjoyed. But why do posters seem to resent touts, is it jealousy or the belief they're all crooked?

I think the real number of dishonest ones probably lies between "some" and "99%." I've met a few really good, decent guys who do it for a living. But the majority that I've come across seem to be as full of sh¡t as a Christmas turkey and they remind me of used car salesmen.

Its because people expect something great when they are paying for a service...so if a tout doesnt go 3-0 or 5-0 the people feel scammed and yell bloody murder. Thus touts get a bad name.

I may have actuallly found a decent tout service...got a free week and will keep watch to see if they are legit or not.

Actually, the guys on the front page here are the more honest ones because most of them have their records monitored. Still, the sleazy scumbags that give out both side to each game or who greatly fabricate their records do exist, and that stigma ruins it for the honest, hard-working cappers in the industry.

What Im saying is...a buddy of mine(Although I told him never to buy picks) went on a very cold streak and ending using a tout service. He said they werent too bad and showed me his record after about a month of using them. Although he wasnt up big, he was up enough to the point where it caught my attention. So I ended up looking at the site and they have a free seven day trial going on. Like I said, I will check them out for this week...see if they are as consistent as they were with my friend.

It cant hurt to give em a try.

you buy a package and the second they win one or two games the sales pitching starts again about a new package where the old one i bought still hasnt ended yet

Seems you are generalizing here. Like I said in my post above, the are definitely MANY shady characters in this business that ruin it for everybody else, and I would never dispute that. That said, there are also guys like myself that spend countless hours handicapping and have never been involved in any of those scandals. Not to mention the fact that I am + units in every sport in free plays posted right here in the forium except for baseball, where a winning record is not out of reach at -8 units.

I guess the point is you can't make a blanket indictment like you are doing because it is not fair to the few honest cappers like me.

There are services like Nevada Sports Services (NSS), which is the same as Jim Feist Sports, which has close ties to Vegas Insider that will try every tactic to get your money. They are worse than high pressure car salesmen. Part of their sales tactic is to insult you, denegrade you, and threaten you when you don't pay immediately.

They aren't even winners. It has nothing to do with only being 55% for the month versus 70%. They can't even hit the 50% mark, and if they do, you're waaay in the whole because of juice and the fact that YOU HAD TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE.

If you don't know what's wrong with these touts, then just let them get a hold of your phone number and address.

Im sure there are a couple of reputable guys in the biz that honor what they say they will do. That means you pay this much for this amount of time
Problem is they go back on there word after a couple wins trying to sell you more packages .....at least thats the experience me and a couple friends had back in the day.
I think thats why some people are sour towards the touts

Correct, a good rule of thunb is if someone refuses to get monitored at one of the legit monitors, then they are probably a scam. I have never seen Feist or Wayne Root at an independent monitor, so draw your own conclusions.
