I wonder if this could actually give Blake the confidence to finally make a big run in the US Open? I bet Crazy is pissing himself somewhere about this.

Anyone else think Federer is doing it on purpose, and will magically be in form for the US Open?

Um, a big no on that Crazy. I think he's just struggling this bad. I'm not gonna say he's on the down-slope of his career. Alot of great players have had piss poor years. This is certainly his for whatever reason. I would really say now if Federer wins the US Open, it is an UPSET.

W-A-S-H-E-D UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been saying this all year yet there are people who keep betting him. He was actually the favorite to win the gold at +180 just prior to this recent chokejob.

I think he is in transition to more attacking style tennis, probably realized by talking to sampras that it is hard to win a lot of slams after 27 running every ball down like he did for the last 5 years. whatever he does gl to him, great talent, one in the lifetime!

i hope he has couple more slams in him!!!

Maybe a premonition for Nadal as well?

No doubt on Nadal. I think he's already played a ton more tennis at this age than Federer did. Nadal is really gonna have to pace himself over the next 3-4 years or risk burnout.

I was thinking of taking a shot at blake +900 (-1050) last night, but the fact that he'd been killed every other time they'd played was just too much for me to overcome.

Yea, you make two grand slam finals in a year by not being competitive.

lol. Washed up? The guy would have his 14th slam if not for Nadal. Thats the only player that has stood in his way. He has had a better year than 98% of the tennis players on the circuit and he's washed up? C'mon.

Yes. Some of his losses appear to be deliberate.

i wish i could believe it CrazyL but as you said a month ago, he looks to be on the down swing rather fast, i'm not real optimistic about his chances in queens later this month

2 out of 3, mind you, because the us open hasn't even started yet,

no doubt that he is slipping, but like ive said before i wont pour the dirt on this guy until i see him go 2 straight slams without making the semis at least, if he goes out in 2 straight slams in the quarters or earlier, its basically over for him i think

Yeah and the Bills would be B2B SB champs if not for the Cowboys.

Face it, this guy will never win another GS ever again. He's no longer the best on grass, hardcourt and never was on clay. Plus Nadal and Djokovic are 5-6 years younger than him and just starting their prime.

Fed got so intimidated by Nadals presence the last 15 months or so that I think it actually destroyed the weak minded Fed's game.

Lets face it, Nadal is the most intimidating Tennis player of all times.

No surprise here for me. Roger has lost to Karlovic & Simon this month. Would have loved to have gotten Blake at +900 but I decided to stay away. Did anyone watch the match?

**** it man. If he can win against Fed after what - 15 Ls in a row - he can beat Gonzo after 5 Ls in a row. Gonzo has had an easy road to the semis. Blake is never gonna have a better shot to do SOMETHING in his career than this. I think this is a 2 setter either way. James Blake vs. Rafael Nadal is my guesstimate for the Gold.

Blake -120
