Default Joakim Noah or Yannick Noah - who gets bragging rights?

Joakim's team just won the U.S. College Basketball championship. Yannick won a tennis major (The French Open, 1983) in singles.

Who had the biggest moment of sports glory in the Noah family, father or son?

I say Yannick winning the French Open.

Well, since the 83 French Open never happened, I'd have to go with Joachim.

Not to mention, the French Open is a relatively weak tournament as far as majors go. More times than not, it is some half decent guy winning the tournament and not one of the real players. That kinda happens when you play on dirt and not a real surface. You know if Federer doesn't win the tournmanet, somethings wrong anyway.

Can you please have at least 10% of a clue before you comment on anything?

I'd have to go with the only Frenchman in the last 60 years to win the French Open. He lost an astounding ONE set in seven matches on clay, and defeated the defending champ 3-0 in the final.

And he did this with that, a 75mph serve. Thats my point, thats why i say it never happened. Technology and the dynamics of the game have changed it to a point where a good high school player now would beat him quite easily.

As far as the only Frenchman, that speaks more to the quality of French tennis then. It's gotten better, but outside of Gasquet and Grosjean, there's not much after that.

My reasons for disagreeing with you make much sense and i have more of a clue than you realize. Shouldn't you be playing internet tough guy with a C.S. rep. about now?

I am a huge tennis fan, but aside from the game changing as much as it has, I think it would be a bigger accomplishment being that this is present day and he is considered the best player on the team and has elevated his stock to top 5 in the draft. Also, if you want to look at it on a finanical level Joachim will make more as soon as his name is called in the draft than his father would his entire professional tennis career.

Probably the only place in the world where this is even debatable is the United States. Yannick is the clear choice.

However I was expecting some support for the importance of the NCAA tournament.

It happened. The history books say it happened. However fast or slow he served, it still happened.

Here we go again, all aboard the bullshit express.

How would Yannick Noah perform if he was pitching against Babe Ruth and Secretariat was the catcher?
