It’s hard to make a case for a Padres team being undervalued here. The market is starting to price in Zito as if recent performance has no upside, which is hard to believe (although he is a shell of his former self). With a Padres lineup as bad as they are, all the disparity has to come from pitching, and a 130 basis point disparity is hard to derive no matter how good Peavy is at home. Baseball simply does not work that way. In my opinion, this is a stay away game or the Giants warrant a small play.
