I agree. It all depends what you want to do ya know? I am very close to getting my Phd and I will never use it. I just like school. I do not use any of my degrees for work. It really boils down to exactly what you want to do that is the bottom line. I work for myself so it really doesn't matter but you will get a wide variety of opinions about this topic....If you ever want to talk more about this.. pm me we can chat on the phone...

it depends on which field of study you are going to graduate school for.

If you're an average joe with no amazing skills or talents besides basic shit, the only way to make good money is to do it.

Grad school is sweet. Do whatever you want, party, meet smart people. When you are done, you get a piece of paper that says you earn twice as much.

If you want to make 6 figure income go to grad school. Chicks love grad school. I nailed some of the best chicks while I was a TA in grad school. You get to nail all the chicks the married professors wouldn't do.

One thing is that it's tough to go back to school once you are in the real world and making money. If you are just finishing undergrad, and you think this is a degree you want, now might be the time to do it. One day when you are old you might think back and wish you'd done it, but now you can't because of mortgage, car payments, mouths to feed, etc. At that point you can do grad school part time (for a lot of programs anyway) but then it would not be as enjoyable, would take a long time, etc.

You are mostly asking the wrong guys.

In some fields, getting a grad degree is valuable in the marketplace (computer science, economics, business). Others are not(English, Sociology, History, etc.), and you should probably only bother if you want to go for a career in academia.

Just be an electrician. Seems as if any screw ball not playing with a full deck can do it.

Do it to meet people and girls if the company is footing the bill. I met and dated the hottest girl ever in my MBA program. She was a dead ringer for a VS model 5'11 135lbs. blue eyes and blonde hair - BEAUTIFUL to say the least! Every guy would try and pick her up but I won. If your job is paying I would say no brainer definitely do it, if you have to take out a loan and pay for it don't bother especially in marketing - complete waste of money!!!! I luckily double dipped since my company paid and I met a Hottie and other friends..

The degree gets you in the party! The connections you make in grad school, are better then anything you have now. No more applying for jobs, you graduate from grad school they come to you. This is a no brainer kiddo!

My girlfriend got her masters in advertising a few years ago. In that field (think Mad Men) a masters degree is needed just for entry level.

If that's the field you want with your marketing degree, I'd say do it.

Oh hell yeah! A graduate degree not only makes you very smart, it also makes you a much better person than those who don't have one and guarantees you'll have a seven figure income within three years of receiving that little piece of paper. Plus you get to work on very exciting research projects such as Exploring the Conceptual Gap in Perceived Effects of Media Reports About Media Reports. Anyone without that extra college is just pissing in the wind.

not worth it, unless you really like the stuff. otherwise, it is just another fluff degree.

If you are going to a major school with a recognized and respected name, do it. If you are going to the local small-time, no-name school, it probably won't do much for you in terms of a really good job or raise.

Grad school nookie is the best you can ever ask for. Not only you nail the older chicks but all the freshmen that look at you for sexual guidance.
