Federer watch, cincinnati - we are in the rd of 16
i'm gonna start saying 'we' since i am clearly the only poster on this site who openly supports fed even at the darkest time in his illustrious career,
so, 'we' are in the round of 16 and ready to take on big serving karlovic, roddick never showed up in our bracket so the biggest threat is gone, i think we have clear sailing into the semis given our weak bracket,
imagine that, someone saying 'clear sailing' in the same post as saying 'federer'
watch us go

Hopefully Fed got a bit of confidence after beating Ginepri. Karlovic won't break serve. I see Fed winning 7-6 7-6.
I am a Federer fan and he will bounce back. That's what champions do.

with the score you predicted, it doesnt seem like you think fed will break serve either
getting to tiebreakers each match is not a safe thing to do for fed right now, so i think he will have to break at least once each set to finish off hard serving karlovic rather easily

I'm a federer fan.Has cost me some money but I still bet on him anyways. I think he will beat karlovic tomorrow and I like the "relatively" low odds of -450 on him.

well, he's not married, but his gf is his manager and accompanies him everywhere,
i think he's frustrated and knows his game is slipping a bit while the others are catching up and nadal is passing him, if nadal wins this tournament, he will be the official new #1 in ATP rankings

part of the ranking is past performance and points, otherwise theres no way roger is #1 right now, nadal has beaten him 4 straight times at the french and 1-1 at wimbledon, nadal is 5-1 h2h vs fed in grand slams since '05, nadal at #1 is very well-deserved, kid has 5 gs titles and just turned 22, he is sick and he really deserves it, but, and a decent sized BUT, he must win cincinnati to get the #1 ranking

What a disgraceful effort in the third set TB.
The first TB I can forgive his one ill shot, the second set he played well but was fortunate to capitalize on Ivo's lack of energy, or else that was clearly headed for another TB.
The third set TB was an absolutely horrendous performance and thing was he had the opportunities to win it! He had the second serve chances and he was simply beaten from the baseline by Ivo Karlovic! I can't even believe that I am typing that, he's clearly not only lost a step emotionally, but talent wise he is no longer the same player under pressure situations. His confidence is shot and he'll likely never regain the type of dominance he once held over the tennis world. It's simply not his time anymore and with each match that becomes painfully more obvious, unfortunately, I gave the "former" world #1 far too much credit and that in turn has left me down a number of units.

you are probably right, Crazyl, only time will tell if he can pull off what agassi did and have a great run to end his career, although there are hundreds of guys who fade away for every one agassi. i think fed will have to make some serious changes in his game, perhaps serve differently and become a serve and volleyer, i dont know, but as a baseliner, his end is coming and rafa is not gonna give it up, djoko should get more consistent, murray is waiting in the wings, too many young up and comers, this is very sad to see for the once-great federer
