Default Fedor Emelianenko vs. Andrei Arlovski will happen October 11 in Vegas.

Am so pumped for this fight. I think Arlovski has a much better chance against Fedor. I think Fedor still wins, but it will go longer than 36 seconds.

Quote:
Longtime PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko (28-1) and former UFC heavyweight title-holder Andrei Arlovski (13-5) -- the biggest winners and clear-cut fan favorites at this past weekend's "Affliction: Banned" event -- will headline the rookie organization's next show on Oct. 11.

Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports was the first to confirm the date and heavyweight main event.

As we previously reported, a Nov. 8 date and Atlantic City location had been under consideration, but instead, Affliction will head to Las Vegas for a show at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.

Formal announcement of the show is expected on Tuesday, according to Yahoo! Sports.
And in Vegas no less. UFC isn't going to be doing another show in Vegas until the event at the end of the year if that.

Now talk that it will be on the 12th. Sunday night doesn't make sense to me, but just as long as the fight gets done.

its nobodys fault. fedor is just that much more dominant than everyone else. he will kill arlovski and beat couture into retirement. the guy just has sick skills and may be the calmest, coolest mofo alive.

fedor will be smart and take this to the ground

fedor's biggest advantage in this matchup is better wrestling, gnp, & submissions

could possibly go the distance but fedor should win. AA's punching power and accuracy has to be respected.

I want to see what the odds are .Arloski has a good shout of winning this .He has never been Submitted before in MMA . This is going to be Fedor toughest fight since Hunt or Crocop . Glad to see Affliction stepping up.Hopefully the rest of the card will be good.

Hunt recently lost to Alistar overeem at dream who is a fukn beast at HW. He never looked right at LHW, but now he is roided out and looks great at 240... Watch out for overeem

I believe that Arlovski does have a better chance against Fedor because his hands are much faster than Sylvia's. Getting inside and crowding him by Fedor may not work. Still, if Fedor gets Arlovski to the ground, and I think he will, it could be game time for the Pitbull.

Here's a preview/ prediction on the fight: http://www.submittomma.com/articles/..._vs_fedor.html

Overeem is one of the most underrated fighters ,I agree he didnt look right at 205lb. He moved to HW to be a lot stronger at HW. He said the Cut to 205lb was to hard at 6"6" and that affected his cardio . If you watch his fights He was beating Shogun 2 times then gassed, he also was working Lidddell till chuck landed a huge over the top haymaker punch .

I would really love to see this guy in the UFC.

I agree that Overeem would be interesting to watch in the UFC. He was always awesome for the first few minutes of his fights before he gassed. If the problem was truly the weight cut, he would be a force to be reckoned with.

By the way, Overeem has called out Mirko Cro Cop and that fight will likely happen once Filipovic has recovered from surgery. Looking forward to it.

The put out a press release, and Fedor is out because of a hand injury. Arlovski is now fight Barnett. My level of interest in this event just dropped a ton. Other possible matchups:

- Matt Lindland vs. Vitor Belfort
- Tim Sylvia vs. TBA
- Pedro Rizzo vs. TBA
- Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. TBA

Without a huge main event, I don't think they have enough interesting fighters to make me set through three more sets from Megadeath
