Default Is Sportbet a good book?

I see Sportbet has a B rating and is listed on the SBR Linetracker. I went to their site and saw that they offer a 50% bonus on your first $500 and they take echeck. It all seems too good to be true. Has anyone used them lately?

Sportbet (SBR Rated B) has no outstanding complaints levied against them at this time. In fact the one I recall was resolved and that was involving either a Neteller or Moneybookers payout, due to the fact that they didn't have there merchant account funded. However, the one thing you gotta like about them is the fact they do offer a pretty good selection of prop wagering options. They don't take Echecks anymore. Also, they will cut your limits if you show promise as well as mis-grade wagers from time to time, so always double check your losers.

I played with them for about a year. Always was paid without a problem (in Neteller days for us Canadians), however limits are extremely low to start with ($250) and by the end of my time their were slashed to $100, which eventually made me move on. But i always felt my money was safe.

Hedge, I can offer up my experiences with them, which lasted about a year:

*Very good bonuses as you stated, and they don't try to weasel their way out of them as so many books seem to do.....

*My max bet was lowered from $500 to $250 and finally $100 over the time I was with them, with it being a fairly gradual process.....

*Wager grading errors: I have never been with a book that had so many errors. It got to the point where I pretty much would expect a grading error on a daily basis over one stretch of time.....

*Very approachable whenever there was a problem, and they seem very aware of their ratings status on SBR. Also had the best CS Rep I have ever come across in over a decade of doing this ("Andrew" was his name. Not sure if he's still there).....

*Like Dan said, props galore, to the point where they give the Greek a run for their money in terms of available options.....

*Their conditions for what wagers count towards the rollover process reads like bloody War and Peace. I requestred my first payout after 7 months of daily action with them, and they rather laughably tried to tell me I had not rolled over my initial deposit, a view they quickly rescinded on. But definitely make sure you read that section, as I ended up with the feeling that nothing counted towards the rollover process at all.

Overall, in a perfect world I'd reup with them, but my $100 limit makes this completely unfeasible. Not the best book around by any stretch, but you could do far, far worse, believe me. You'll get paid, which is all that matters of course.....

Thank you all for the great info. The thing that makes this forum the best is the willingness of members to share their experiences.

Heres a couple more things about Sportbet HH.

Despite what some of there customer service reps might say, they will do book-to-book transfers with bookmaker IF it's for a decent size/sum of funds you wanting to move. However, I don't know what the fees are offhand though. Also, They do have a mirror site as well which you can find here. Not to mention they will only accept U.S. and Canadian currencies (which will get converted into U.S. funds instantly).

Why take the risk? Plently of A books to choose from, that bonus seems to be the only way for these places to to get bites from players.

I'm bumping this thread for Steeltown, since he's asking the same question today. I opened my account there and got a $250 cash bonus. CS was very helpful, too.

Hedge, hows sportbet been working for you in your first month or so?

BBD or Thremp, you guys have any updates or peculiarities I should be aware of?

I plan on grabbing their 50% bonus, and they take moneybookers which is always good.

Stumpage's post seems to be fairly representative of most of the threads on here. All in all seems safe enough for me. But, I'm a cautious freak so I thought I'd give this a bump before depositing.

Default grading errors

My experience was with grading errors. i made a lot of plays and never really kept track, purely recreational player.
i got hot and ran up a good balance. Requested a payout and they ran an audit and said i was playing with their money because they graded wagers wrong. They graded some in my favor when they should have been losers. They put my balance at 0 and i never played there again.

Seriously? That sounds pretty bad lol. It seems like there has to be more to this?? Did you not complain or go to SBR for help?

Just the grading errors I can deal with as I'd be sure to check all of them, but what you just said doesn't sound right.

Alright, I guess if it was a few years back it's not too relevant anymore, not enough to scare me away I don't think, I'll just have to be really careful checking the grading.

But, I think most people here wouldn't necessarily agree on the "your fault for not paying attention" thing. I'd say you had a pretty legit claim to atleast some if not most/all of the money.

i never realized how many grading errors occur. i now check on a daily basis. i just found one on a parlay i had with the indians. Listed pitchers were Lee and Lambert, it was cancelled. Parlay should have payed more. Sent an e mail immediately.

There was a recent situation with Sportbet where they couldn't do Moneybookers payouts. It got worked out within a couple of weeks I think.

So I don't know if that is permanently solved or more of an off-and-on proposition.

I generally like Sportbet. The info in this thread seems very good. If they offered me a 50% bonus I would be on it right quick.

I hate how fast the website times out though. It's one of the worst for that. You have to sign in over and over. Annoying.

It's been great so far. Obviously I'm still working on my 7x rollover, (60% of the way there!) so I have no payout experience to report. I'm getting some generous MLB dog prices from time to time (slow moving lines) and some decent prop action. I'd advise you to take the plunge and grab the 50% free cash.

Heres the lowdown. Again, I have no reson to lie. i sent them 1 dime and quickly got it to 9 dimes. During this time I was hassled daily. My limits were changed daily. I was lied to daily. When they lowered my limits too low and I still had the rollover to meet, I figured I should just get my money out. Since they have a 30 day hold, I couldnt do that. Didnt make sense to me since they were the ones who didnt want my business anymore. I was betting no more than a dime a game and just got hot. In the two weeks I was there I maybe had 5 bets for over 500$. Most bets were 250. I even called Betonline three way for the manager and proved to him that I had lost over ten grand in the last year at Betonline. They still screwed with me daily. Then it was payout time. More hassles. They promise and advertise 3 to 5 days for all payout methods. BS!!! It was terrible. I had to wait at least 10 days. And thats only becasue I got SBR involved. They also wont give you control and tracking #'s. I had to contact SBR for help and then it went smoother. I cant imagine the poor guy who doesnt know about forums for help. This place is for small battors who never win. I cant believe this place is a B. How can you not lower their rating after all I went through?

i figured things had changed over the past couple years. Very disappointed to hear of your awful experience.
Sometimes the generous bonus is not worth the hassle of trying to get paid.

Steel,

Didn't they also send you a check for a bonus that you didn't earn yet? How long did that take to reach you?

How long did it take to get your payout in hand?

I recall poor communication but also thought they did right by you in the end?

They are routinely slow on NT payouts.

I made it clear in the post that once SBR got involved, they changed their tune. I was lied to for 10 days before I decided to notify SBR. Sure they paid me the bonus they originally gave me but again it was only becasue they were giving me the boot for winning and because you guys contacted them about it. It wasnt like I was trying to cash out before meeting the rollover. They left me no choice. They never said I did anything wrong. They just didnt like the fact that in my first week playing there I was doing well. Why should i lose a bonus for not meeting a rollover when they are kicking me out for winning? Why should I have to wait 30 days when they arent alllowing me to bet? Again, as soon as SBR contacted them, they started acting real sweeet. Before that it was lie after lie after lie. I feel bad for anybody playing there that doesnt know about the forums.

You take the extra risk if you can beat their slow moving lines and take advantage of other +ev opportunities. As long as they pay when I win, the risk is worth it.

Well I finally took the plunge and posted up.

Signing up was a little more of hassle than I'm used to since you need to call in in order to deposit, then call back to get the bonus. But, it's a minor hassle at most and the CS seemed nice enough.

Anyways, I have to say I'm amazed at the number of props they offer. If anybody's looking for game props, these guys blow a book like 5Dimes out of the water. First book I've used that offers something along the lines of "Greg Little vs Kordell Young Total rushing yards" for the likes of a game like Rutgers-UNC.

They are slower moving lines, but if you beat them to these lines often enough they will slash your limits to $100.

Thanks for the response. I think i'm going to sign up today. Great bonus. You have any other books with slower moving lines (but reliable)? Was thinking of depositing at SIA as well?

SIA lines are shaded towards the favorites. So if you play only these favorites and beat them you will be ok until you give it all back. If you beat them by consistently playing their dog lines they will cut your limits or ask you to leave.
