Default Beware of the Dogs of March! Anyone playing the +410 dog today?

Personally I think UConn will hurt ole George but +410 wtf??? I think you would be a lifetime winner playing +400 dogs with the last 8 teams. A lot of pressure on these kids.

john, i personaly couldn't throw away money like that playing the dog. talent will prevail in the long run, and george mason will find that out today.

What scares me about this game and taking the dog is UCONN hasnt played a solid game yet. And you have to believe they will break out of it sometime. Then again, maybe they wont and the scrappy defense of George Mason will upset them. I see where you are coming from with that +410, its a very good value and could be playable.

I on the other hand will need the comfort of the points (8/8.5) if I was to play this game at all.

I look at it this way. Can you really see a team like George Mason in the Final 4. Next Saturday, at the scorer's table, when they have all 4 team names, 2 on each side of the white paper, can you really see there name on that.

The whole Cinderella if they are lucky die at the elite 8 level. The only other one I can think of recently that got to the elite 8 was Gonzaga in 1999 when they lost to UCONN in the west regional final. Some get lucky and get to the 2nd round, one or 2 a year shock and get to the sweet 16, 3 this year, once every 5 years, one may get to the regional finals, but no one since sports really counted has brken through to the final 4.

To me, UCONN has been coasting through because they know they can. The tourney is just now starting for them on an emotional level while George mason thinks they've won the national championship with all the praise and the phone calls they have to be getting.

I will, however, be pulling for George mason.

So John. Did you end up betting that +410? Or did you chicken out?

That would of been a nice payout for anyone that played that.

No I really thought UConn would drill GM but as a bettor you cant pass up +410 when really what are true odds? half that? I mean if these teams played 10 times I think GM wins 3, on avg. so fair odds have to be in the +300 range? Anyway, I hope some folks enjoy counting money because at +410 thats a nice hit!

I have bet almost nothing because I have not found my chance. I'm terrible at hoops and my only chance is to stalk the tourney and look for 1 or 2 big plays.
